650 mL. 2014 vintage pours out a nearly opaque mahogany with ruby highlights. Thin creamy foam leaves a sugary frosting on the glass. Nose has dark toffee, chocolate, figs and bourbon. Tastes of dates, chocolate, plum, earthy caramel, smoky oak, vanilla and merlot. Heavy body is smooth with a low-medium carbonation. Definitely a dessert beer but enough dryness to be quite drinkable. Just a nice warmth from the big, well disguised abv.

2014 Vintage bottle poured into a tulip glass. Nose is barrel oak with a hint of burnt caramel sweetness. This is a huge improvement over the initial release in 2013...whatever you did, keep it up! This is a big beer but is still very drinkable. Medium mouthfeel with just the right amount of carbonation. Very well done!

Bottle from 2013. Mega-gusher. Shit what a mess. Pours a cloudy reddish hazel, large fizzy tan head, dissipates slowly, lots of residual, decent lacing. Aroma is a bit of paint thinner, dark sugars, toffee, some bourbon, oak tannins. Flavor is light sweet, medium bitter, quite hot. Sharp initial industrial cleaner thing going on, fading into more of a malty sweet boozy concoction. Lots of tannins providing acidity, but surprisingly not a lot of weird funky shit given the gushing up front. Kinda burns in an unrefined home-made moonshine way. May be useful for cleaning carbeurators. Hugely, distractingly carbonated. All that said, its not terrible. I wish I would have tried it a year ago.

More Alabama beer. Ok. Pours a hazy brown with an off-white head. Nose is bourbon, maple, sweet malt, honey, booze, and hints of smoke. Flavor is similar with bourbon, maple, sweet malt, booze, and light smoke. Light to medium in body and interesting overall.

22 ounce bottle, finally my Alabama tick! Poured a hazy amber color woth aromas of caramel, light bourbon, some vanilla, light earth and smoke with a touch of nuts. Flavors are the same big on caramel and booze, light earth and vanilla in aftertase, decent beer overall.
