2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle from wish you were beer. Pours black with a thin khaki head. Has a bit of bourbon on the nose but it’s more faint than I expected. Leaves some lacing in the glass. Tastes a bit like bourbon and dirt on the tongue. It does hide the alcohol fairly well. Not feeling this one.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bomber thanks to me. Pours black with little head. Musty boozy nose. Flavors of bitter cacao bourbon barrel and a bit of sweetness. Decent but a bit amateuress.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottled. Pours a dense black with a small quickly disappearing head. One note aroma, all bourbon, but hey I like bourbon! Flavor is about as subtle as a hammer, with bourbon taking over pretty much everything else. A little thin bodied for the style. Still, I enjoyed this sipper.

3.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
22 oz. bottle shared at First Sunday. Black pour, with a small, tan head. The aroma is new oak, syrup, caramel, and coffee. Negligible bourbon notes. Sweet and malty, with a dry finish. Medium body, smooth, and clean. Overall, this is a weak stout base, with very little added from the bourbon barrel treatment.
