3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 BeerHawk (1635) - Huntsville, USA - APR 8, 2011
Draft @ the Nook. Hazy orange in the glass with an off-white head that settled to a ring and left light lace. Aromas of milk chocolate? Caramel flavor with a light hop backing. Medium body, smooth, and a caramel aftertaste. Kind of off for an IPA. I checked twice with the waitress to insure she brought the correct beer. Needs a big hop kick!
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 drostj (32) - Huntsville, Alabama, USA - MAY 27, 2012
Keg pour at RC Brewfest. Clear, reddish-brown with a light head. Sweet aroma with a light malt scent and some floral notes. Smooth taste with a slight bitterness, a bit sweet with a lot of things going on - hops, rye, citrus. Very nice and different from the standard IPA.
3.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 magsinva (314) - Virginia, USA - SEP 17, 2011
Pours a deeper cloudy orange, white head, no lacing. Aroma is orange and rye. Taste is sweet-bitter rye. Palate is dry with little lingering bitterness. Thin. OK, but the rye overwhelms any hops.

This is by far the best offering by Blue Pants. Solid IPA, the Rye definitly counters the hops which creates a very balanced enjoyable beer. I will get this one again. Hops were slight on citrus. Good mild IPA.

On tap at the noon. Pours orange with a small head. Rye dominates both the aroma and the taste. Can’t say I’m getting much hoppiness out of this one.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 rlaw (809) - Alabama, USA - JUN 7, 2011
Draft. Sampled at Magic City Brewfest. Poured a hazy golden copper with a medium-sized off-white head. The rye adds some interesting grainy and spicy notes. This seemed awfully mild for an American IPA. I’d have pegged it as an APA or simply a rye ale. Pretty good. 7% ABV seems oddly high for a mild, otherwise sessionable ale.

Hazy dark yellow. Nose is a bit hoppy, lots of rye and malts. Taste is full of grain and rye. A bit sweet. But easy drinking.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 GTAEgeek (511) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - MAR 31, 2011
Growler from Liquor Express. Pours a hazy gold with a huge, foamy, white head. The aroma is oranges, apples, wheat and flowers. The flavor is sweet up front, with a little bitterness in the finish. The palate is light, fairly carbonated, very smooth and a little oily. Overall, a very interesting IPA.

Yeah. First to rate a beer...And on date night to boot! Tap at J Clyde. Lightly hazy golden copper color with a light head. Almost a wheat like presence in the aroma with lightly citrus hops. A bit of hay. The flavor follows suit with an interest malt profile. Soft grain that still screams wheat to me with a very light citrus hop presence. More of an American pale if u ask me . Soft mouth feel and med body. Good and session like if not for the 7%.
