Draft at Sten and Stein. Clear and yellow. Nose is sweet and yeasty. A bit sweet an d yeasty. Alcohol is noticeable

On tap at the Nook. Pours dark gold with a very thin, bubbly head. The aroma is nectarines, oranges, hay, caramel, and candy sugar. The flavor is cloyingly sweet, with a little bitterness in the finish. The palate is medium, syrupy, and flat. Overall, this beer isn’t bad, but it certainly is not a tripel. It lacks depth, complexity, and proper yeast.

Draft at Magic City Brewfest. About the fifth beer I tried at this beer festival that claimed a lofty abbey ale moniker without living up to it. Poured a hazy golden with a small white head. Some tasty maltiness and a nice hop profile, but the Belgian elements were very muted. Would never have guessed a tripel in a blind taste test. Alcohol was pretty pronounced.
