COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The "liberation" concept came about when the three - Perry, Spratley and Yellowhammer head brewer Keith Yager - pooled their resources to purchase bottling equipment. "We bought some equipment together and thought we’d do a collaboration series," said Perry. Blue Pants had the honor of tapping the first brand - Liberation Wee Heavy, a 10 percent ABV strong scotch ale with a smooth malty sweetness and notes of dried fruit.

Draft at Olde Heildelberg. Pours Hazy amber with a thick, white head. Tastes grassy, like raisin, caramel, grapes, light alcohol. Light body and low carbobation. Smells like fruity raisin, doughy malt.

Had this one at the tailend of a barleywine night. And although we had many bwines, this one should be considered the most sticky sweet of all. Sweet caramel, overwhelming sticky dates/figs/dark fruits. Taste continues with a medium to full body that carries the toffee sweetness into the finish. Dark fruits and brown sugar persist as well.

Bottle from Hop City - pours cloudy amber with a tan head . Seriously, even after you take a sip, it foams up in your mouth, which is awkward. Aroma is malty, but damn it foamed again. Sigh.

Bottle from Hop city. Pours brown with a shitload of khaki foam. I mean the damn thing wouldn’t stop foaming. Kind of malty on the nose. Very sweet on the tongue. There’s a fair amount of alcohol on the tongue. Eh!

Bottle courtesy of Brentfeesh. Nutty caramel malt aroma. Gusher - I’ve only had one other Yellowhammer beer and it was a memorable gusher too. Hazy brown with a large beige head. Extremely sweet woody caramel malt flavor. Medium body, very-very active (overly so) carbonation. In fact, it was so highly carbonated it interfered with the flavor.

Bottle from Whole foods. Sick sweet date malty aroma. Appearance is thick not super clear, no head. Very little carbonation. Very sweet on the palate okay to average flavor. Mild hop addition on back of tongue. Dried fruit meaning raisons and dates do come through. Not to bad.
