COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer is still in development, but has seen a limited release. It is an 8.0% ABV American Imperial Stout with chocolate, coffee, and vanilla flavors. The high quality coffee grounds are added directly to the fermenter to minimize the bitterness. Vanilla is also added which imparts a sweet taste to the beer not normally found in this big of a stout. Its smooth, rich and is a greak break from the winter weather.

Tasted on 4/17/13 from a capped 22oz bomber bottle purchased at Frugal MacDoogal. Pours nearly completely black with a thick brown head that slowly recedes to thick, even lace. The nose is dark and roasty, full of freshly roasted coffee, milk chocolate, and plenty of vanilla. The flavor is the same, very coffee forward with the chocolate and vanilla taking a back seat and some very nice bitterness. The body is medium with fairly lively carbonation and a long bitter coffee, milk chocolate, and vanilla finish.

Draft at Taproom. Black with thin tan head. Aroma of roasted malts and coffee. Medium body with coffee notes upfront, a hint of sweetness, and a dry slightly bitter finish.

bottle. glass full of foam. turns black like magic. milk chocolate and vanilla aroma. flavor has notes of dark chocolate and vanilla. a good roasty bitterness with low hop addition. its a swell stout, i just donít understand why every beer pours a glass of foam first.

Very dark brown color, brown head. Extremely roasty, bitter espresso, Mexican vanilla, charred wood, tar. A tad too roasty.

Bomber. Poured deeper brown with a slightly fizzy toasted beige head. The aroma picked up toasty coffee and chocolate with accents of funky sourness and vanilla.. I liked the coffee character, but the brew seemed off. The flavor found tangy coffee and sour husk-like notes on the tip of the tongue, with dry, roasty coffee, toast, and a bit of trailing vanilla behind.. dry, sour, and funky along with burnt coffee on the finish. Medium-bodied and very dry on the palate.. not so sure the funk and sourness was supposed to be there.

Bomber from Smoky Mountain Wine and Spirits. Címon guys, just because a beer is from Alabama you give it a low score? This is the second beer Iíve had from Blue Pants and really liked. This is an excellent coffee stout, not the best ever, but very solid. The coffee aroma and flavor is very real and developed. I kept thinking there was lactose involved, but that may be the vanilla. Itís not too sweet, the vanilla is just an afterthought beneath the roasty coffee. I donít get any sour twang or metallic notes, just solid smooth coffee. The body and alcohol volume is very tasteful and appropriate for the flavor profile. This is great introduction to the Knoxville market and I will be buying this again,

22 oz bomber courtesy of Suttree. The pour is a hazy brown black with a large khaki head. The aroma is stale coffee, roast and a light vanilla sweetness. The taste is a weird sweetness up front, turns towards the roast in finishes fairly strong with the stale coffee. As the beer warmed, the sweetness at the start settled down a lot, making this more drinkable. The palate is medium to light bodied with a coffee acidity and a weird synthetic char finish. This was not really my thing. Thanks Phil, enjoyed trying a new brewery.

22oz bottle in a coffee mug. Pours black with a lacy, beige head. Aroma of light coffee, a little roasted malts, some kind of chemical off-note, and a light bitterness. Flavor the same. Average texture. A weird beer.
