Review from notes at World of Beer - Fort Myers on 11/17/11. Poured on draft into a shaker pint glass. Appearance: Pours a medium gold/caramel color with a 1-2 finger frothy off-white head. Excellent lacing. Smell: Sweet and bitter citrus with a touch of pine and sweet malt. Taste: Sweet and bitter citrus up front followed by a touch of black pepper and sweet malt in the middle before ending with pine. Aftertaste is bitter and peppery. Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied with a good amount of carbonation. Drinkability: High drinkability. You could easily have a few of these over the course of an evening. Overall: Very solid beer overall. I would definitely recommend giving this one a shot.

On tap. Dull golden brew with a small amount of white head. Lots of floral hop aroma, grapefruit, and caramel - a bit thin with more floral hops and a nice malt backbone.

En del fruktighet och citrus i aromen, som ändå är lite blek. Grapefrukt och övermogna apelsiner bidrar till en bra smak.

Stale smell, barely hinting at hippiness. A little too copper color. Good initial taste, but not too hoppy, and giving way to a stickiness and stale taste. Not the best IPA, not the worst.

Draft @ Zeke’s. Warm gold with some good lace. Aroma a little skunk weed in a bitter hopped up way. Easy going. Resinous piney palate. A little yeasty and sticky but not bad.

On tap @ Specific Gravity, Salisbury Md-Orange pour w/a moderate white head. Citrus hop aroma. Flavors of citrus hop, some pitch/pine tar, also had a bit of malt on the finish. Solid, but not outstanding. Easy drinking IPA, not an overblown, one deminsional hop bomb.

Pours with huge off white head clear golden orange body with lots of visible carbonation. Piney, orange, citrus, grapefruit (even with a cold) on the nose. Flavor fails, maybe sat on the beer store shelf too long, it’s a lame duck, very thin, slight pine bitterness. Almost no malt presence.

Bottle: Craft beer in Midtown NY is harder to find that you might imagine, Blue Point as a better than avg presence and is a good local option. Food Pairing: Blue Cheese salad.

12 oz bottle: Aroma has got that hard candy kind of hop aroma that I really don’t like. Appearance is a clear golden with just a hint of amber and a thick white head that lingers. Taste is got that same hop texture that I don’t like. Overall, It’s alright just not my style. Cheers!

32-oz pour from Rose’s Pizza in Penn Station, shared by Erica and me as we rode the subway up to the UES. Did not get a good whiff of this beer b/c it was in a plastic cup with a lid, but the color was a brownish amber and the taste was hop-forward and grainy. White head. Not very balanced, but probably not intended to be based on the name. I don’t think there were any hidden flavors to look for - just straight-up hops and a gritty sort of mouthfeel due to the extreme bitterness. Maybe it was the fact that we shared 32 ounces of this, but it was too much for me by the time we got to the bottom. Not an easy drink, but not bad.
