Bottle. Dark golden, average and mostly diminishing head. Moderate, malty and sweetish aroma, some caramel and some floral - tropical fruitiness, some grapefruit - light piney hoppyness. Body is medium, malty and sweetish flavor, some caramel and some floral - tropical fruitiness and some grapefruit - piney hoppyness. Finish is average, malty and lightly sweetish with some caramel and some fruitiness, grapefruit - piney hoppyness, light alcohol. Nice hoppyness, but for IPA there is too much fruitiness with caramel sweetness.

Slightly hazy orangish pour with thin white head. Aroma of herbs not to my liking. Strong bitter hop flavor has very little balance. Dry back-of-throught finish. Not interested in having another.

A nice dark deep amber color. Floral hoppy aroma. Very upfront hoppy flavor, with a sort of spicy/hoppy end of the mouth taste feel. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

27/I/15 - 12Fl. Oz. bottle from a trade @ home - BB: n/a (2015-113) Thanks to Leighton for the trade!

Clear deep orange beer, small creamy off-white head, little stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: sweet malts, lots of ripe mango, some exotic fruits, honey, bit of caramel. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: sweet start, malty, caramel, some citrus, very fruity, passion fruits, some pineapple. Aftertaste: sweet, bit sugary, caramel, honey, sweet ripe mango, nice bitterness, some pineapple. Enjoyed this very much.

Blue Point Hoptical Illusion is you standard IPA pleasant enough for food and casual drinking. Nice moderate fresh hop aroma coming from a golden pour with ample head. Taste is floral with moderate complexity and low bitterness and a nice malt background. Hoptical Illusion is not necessarily a standout, but an enjoyable example of the style.

Bottle: Pours a cloudy golden orange with a small white head and a grapefruit aroma. The hops content gives it a medium high bitterness but the finish balances out with some malt content. An ok IPA but not one of my favorites.

Bottle. Trade with Leighton. Cheers. Hazy, dark gold. Thin, messy, sticky, white head. Looks good. Grainy, toffee malts. Fusty, and a bit dank, orangey hops. Taste is biscuit sweet, then light, pithy bitter. Bit of hop oiliness on the palate. Finishes long, moderate bitter.

Awesome beer. Douchebag wannabe connoisseur reviews aside, this IPA tastes good and three of them will have you buzzing.

Clear, light amber/honey color, tall persisting mustard head. Medium body, strong flavor, avg texture, carbonation and al ihol heat, long palate. Very bitter to the end and after, dry, not well balanced. Extremely hoppy, grapefruity. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
