Bottle. Dark golden, average and mostly diminishing head. Moderate, malty and sweetish aroma, some caramel and some floral - tropical fruitiness, some grapefruit - light piney hoppyness. Body is medium, malty and sweetish flavor, some caramel and some floral - tropical fruitiness and some grapefruit - piney hoppyness. Finish is average, malty and lightly sweetish with some caramel and some fruitiness, grapefruit - piney hoppyness, light alcohol. Nice hoppyness, but for IPA there is too much fruitiness with caramel sweetness.

Bottle. Gold with medium white head. Aroma and taste are floral with lots of melon and caramel. Medium with relatively high carb. Ok.

On tap from The Beer Store Wilson. Orange hue, murky clarity with mostly lasting white head. Okay lacing. Orange peel and rubbing alcohol aromas. Strong bitter orange peel up front with a pineapple finish.

Twisted the cap off and poured into a favorite glass. Golden pour. Big white head. Plenty of lacing. Carbonic aroma mixed with malt. Not much hops in the nose. Grainy malt taste. Bread. Bitter finish. I don’t get much hops. At least as not as much as I would expect from the name.

12 fl Izumo bottle. Cloudy honey coir with white head that quickly disappears. Unusual aroma: hoppy but with sour gooseberry hints. Soft and meaty on the palate. Very bitter aftertaste with slight lemony sweetness. A nice IPA if a little lacking in finesae ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

It had a deep golden color with good clarity and a nice average size head on top. The head had a nice creamy off white color and good retention. This made for some cool lacing as the slow fading cap made its way down the glass. There was a wonderful bright fruity hop character with solid notes of citrusy grapefruit rind with some leafy/spicy hops over milder sweet malt. Its firm medium body has solid hop bitterness and hop flavor notes mildly balanced buy sweet almost fruity maltiness. Mostly I get citrusy grapefruit like hops with a hint of apricot and pine as well as light white bready sweetness. Towards the finish there is a bit of raw grain from the malt with still brings some sweetness but hop bitterness holds on the tongue deeper into the slow lingering finish. Its carbonation keeps the texture lively but still smooth and pleasing.

Had on draft. Nice color, good imiti all taste, good aftertaste, a good IPA that has a bit of a malt taste. Not too bitter like some IPAs but enough that you know it's an IPA without having to reach for a water as some are too dry ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Amber colored with coarse carbonation. Crystal clear with nice highlights. A rather thin head lasts longer than expected. Aroma is very promising, with clear notes of caramel malt, spicy hops, and citrus (hops). Thankfully, the taste largely follows this aroma, although the flavor from the hops is more resiny and pink grapefruit and less orange. There’s plenty of sweet malt here too, and the end result seems very much in line with the IBU=60 claimed by the brewer. Lingering hoppy aftertaste with some subtle malt hanging in there too. O - another well crafted IPA with ample hop flavor and aroma and a moderate hop hit, yet not too challenging to quaff. {Bottle from 8/2011 notes)
