Commercial Description:
Our Imperial or Double IPA is a brew not to be taken lightly. Crafted in small batches from the finest European malts and American hops. A huge earthy hop aroma is followed by a pleasant caramel sweetness. Four hop varieties round out this perfectly balanced beer that is sure to warm your soul and for that we offer No Apologies!

on tap at kelly’s. poured a hazy reddish amber with a big off white head that left a bit of lacing as it went down. light floral citrus hop nose, with some bubblegum and bread scents. in the taste, a bit more of a caramel malt came out, as well as some more noticeable grapefruit hop flavors. solidly bitter finish, but very well-balanced. medium body with moderate carbonation, and a good coating mouthfeel. barely noticed the alcohol. i’d like a stronger smell in a double ipa, but still pretty tasty.

On tap at the brewery. Aroma quite sweet for any sort of IPA, a bunch of alcohol, grapefruity hops finally kick in. Flavor again quite sweet and malty, but bitter and grapefruit hops kick in again. Still sweet overall, but at least the sweetness doesn’t obstruct the hops. Grapefruit finish that tries hard to take its grip on the whole mouth. Not spectacular, and a bit odd, but pretty tasty.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a deep orange with a small white, creamy head that leaves nice lacing. Aroma of light citrus hops. Flavor of sweet malt, citrusy hops, slight pine. Pretty decent and somewhat balanced, although it is a bit sweet.

Tap at the Blind Tiger. Hazy Orange pour with a thin white head. Malty caramel aroma with lots of grapefruit hop bitterness. Citrus hop bitterness in the taste, very chewy hops, and a bit of malt trying to balance it out. Nice bitter aftertaste. Good beer.

Had this on tap at KClingers in Hanover. Big head, but fully diminished. Aroma - not much aroma for a double IPA, A little citrus, a little pine sesin, but not what I would expect froma DIIPA. Taste - a hint of pepper. Palate - creamy, can really taste the alcohol.

@Ginger Man-on tap-pours a rich retaining light tan head that laces and hazy gold color. Aroma is mild grapefruit/peach. Taste is sweet grapefruit-citrus/resin hops, (cascade+) slick/I2PA mouth feel [OK, found out later it is an I2PA], caramel, secondary husky medium malt, alcohol, some smoky. Mild/OK carbonation.
