Blue Point Brewing’s Oatmeal Stout is a rich, deeply malted extravaganza of a beer. The Oatmeal Stout is a dark beer drinker’s dream come true. The Oatmeal Stout is made from Pale, Crystal, Chocolate and Roasted Malts. In addition Flaked Oats are added to the mix and the outcome is an uncommonly silky brew. This legendary dark beer is full flavored and rich tasting. A romantically delicious microbrew to share with someone special.

On cask at Cask Republic - New Haven, CT. Lightly grainy aroma, touched with some almond. Flavors are okay, if mild and too heavy in the crystal malt department. The body is rather wussy, even for a cask ale. It’s lacking the right sparkle and cream. Middling, but clean, stout.

A bit sour, without roast taste and slippery oat mouthfeel. Dark brown color and thin body.

UPDATED: MAY 20, 2014 Bottle at oatmeal stouts tasting at Beer&Beyond shop. Pours dark brown-black with a tan head. Roasty aroma, some chocolate and herbs. Sweet with roasted malts and coffee flavors. Thin body, watery texture, missing smoothness and creaminess. Did not feel oats at all. Mediocre stout.

Sweet chocolate, light coffee aroma. Light roasted flavour no depth. Rather disappointing.

The aroma is roasted malt chocolate coffee and oats. The appearance is dark brown with a tan head. The taste is like the aims except it has a sour acidic quality. The palate is thin. Overall drinkable but not the best.

The palate is kinda thin with a slight tang acidic at the end. It's very fizzy with high scrub on the bubbles. It's refreshing but not very substance. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

It seemed to have a nice aroma. A nice mix of oats and roasted malts. There was even a hint of smoke to it. Flavor seemed to be off balanced. While there was nice flavors of oats and roasted malts. There was a unsettling acidic flavor. Although it was mild, I could not get around it. Light on the palate. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap & House of Brews, NY. Clear almost black color with small creamy tan-like head and good lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, cappuchino, chocolate and molasses. Tastes of sweet milk chocolate, caramel and white coffee, following is flaky and grainy, while finish is mild herbal bitter with warming aftertaste. Full body, creamy texture and average carbonation in palate. Pretty smooth and drinkable stout...

Undated 22 oz bottle served in a snifter. This Oatmeal Stout pours very dark mahogany but is clear and the bottle lacks sediment. The small tan head is short-lived and lives scant lacing. Hints of dried fruits, bourbon(!) and faint coffee add to the flavor which is, as expected, dominated by roasted grains. The oatmeal is evident in the aroma, flavor and soft feel. No burnt grain. Feel: Well chosen low carbonation. Medium-full bodied. Nicely smooth.
