Poured a deep mahogany color with aromas of sweet malt and light toast. Flavors are the same, thin, with some toastiness, light nuttiness as well, nothing special.

bottle @ Chief Market / Lima OH --- Clear dark amber color, off-white head, spots and dots of lace. Taste is malt that turns sweeter in a very lightly fizzed swallow, followed by thin hops in a medium finish. Nothing bad here, just nothing really good, either.

Smell is quite wealthy with a nice about finished. Taste flush your tongue with my sweet breads ginger some other stuff that I can’t pinpoint. Flavor lingers on the tongue just a tad very enjoyable multi flavor. Makes me want to try other things besides ipas.

UPDATED: OCT 26, 2015 At Het Haasken in Diest, the owner of which apparently got a bottle from a friend who visited New York and was kind enough to sell it to me. Stable, snow white, thin head over a cristal clear, orange blonde beer with lively fizz. Aroma of caramel, toasted bread (even ’croque monsieur’), ’natural’ iron, bread crust, cooked corn, some burning rubber (DMTS?). Clean, sweet and sourish onset, no esters as expected from a lager, smooth caramelly maltiness with toasted edge, lightly bready, soft herbal hop accent far away in the finish along with a plastic-like chemical accent. Feels rather industrial, I had way better examples of this straightforward malty lager style - from Germany.

Nice amber color with a decent amounr of head. Very bready and sweet, but a little undercarbonated.

Pours a light amber with a foamy white head that quickly disappears. Aroma is an odd mix of vegetal and caramel and bread malts. Flavor is slightly sweet caramel and bread malts. Except for that aroma, this is quite good.

This was poured into a mug. The appearance was a semi-hazy burnt orange color with a slight transparency about it. A light one finger white foamy head dissipated within less than about thirty seconds. Foamy rings of lacing glazed around the glass. The aroma had a big sweet maltiness with a sweet nutty and toffee combination that smelled nicely. The taste was mainly sweet with a light roastiness in the nuts and toffee. There’s a quick semi-sweet/roasty nutty aftertaste running into the same sort of finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a decent sweet to crisp sessionability about it. Carbonation was fairly light allowing the sweet nuttiness to roll over my tongue in a semi-sticky sort of way. Overall, nice Oktoberfest, I’d have again.

12oz bottle, from my local Kroger. Clear orange color. Thin off-white head. Some short ropes of lace at first, but it all fades to minimal by the end. Up front, some creamed corn, and vegetable, plus caramel. Not really a pleasant start, though not awful. Bit of pepperiness in the flavor. Moderate sweet taste, very light bitter. Medium body. Kind of slick texture. Lighter, kind of crisp carbonation. Not bad but a subpar oktoberfest.

Bottle. Pours gold with a thin head. Aromas of citrus and sweet malt. Flavors are muted citrus, caramel, cut grass and sweet corn. Subtle breadiness. Not a very solid Oktoberfest beer. This tastes like a macro brewery’s version of a microbrew.
