COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Blue Point Octoberfest is another palate-pleasing seasonal brew. Originally brewed in 1810 to celebrate the betrothal of the Crown Prince of Bavaria, Blue Point continues the celebration by traditionally brewing this special malty amber lager every October. Octoberfest lager is stored cold for 2 months to ensure its distinct smooth flavor. Tap a pint and celebrate the season!

Roasted amber color with a smallish head. Sweet malty aroma and a small head. Taste was a mild chocolate to go along with a sweet hoppy caramel thing. Tastes a bit more like a hopped up Amber than a Marzen. Also got some roasted wood chips.

Smells somewhat yeasty, crisp and very inviting. Mild sweetness predominates, and it is a well-balanced, fall beer. Beautiful amber color, nice frothy head, but it doesn't last all that long. Something very caramel about this.

UPDATED: SEP 7, 2007 This stuff seems to get a little less tasty each year - this year it’s quite sweet, with a slighty metallic bitterness behind it, and a bit of diacetyl underneath the bready flavors - Hmm, quite a tasty oktoberfest - bready, sweet, lightly fruity, touch of hops for balance, thick head, medium carbonation - liquid sweetbread - nice.

Clear light orange. Sticky off white head. Zippo carbonation. Munich malts fill the aroma along with orange peels. Citric, toasty and with a delicate sweetness. Munich malts are evident but subdued. Smooth, solid lagered taste. Brick oven toasted quality very apparent. Medium body. Dry. Finishes less citric but still a wacky version. Pac NW hops in an Oktoberfest?
