Blue Point Octoberfest is another palate-pleasing seasonal brew. Originally brewed in 1810 to celebrate the betrothal of the Crown Prince of Bavaria, Blue Point continues the celebration by traditionally brewing this special malty amber lager every October. Octoberfest lager is stored cold for 2 months to ensure its distinct smooth flavor. Tap a pint and celebrate the season!

Bottle at home. Pours clear copper with a medium, creamy off-white head, long retention with light lacing. Aroma is toast and nutty malt, dates, and light spicy hops. Flavor is melanoidin malt dominant, light hops and bitterness, a clean lager character and a sweet finish. Medium body and carbonation.

Drought. Light amber color with small whitish foamy head, faint grassy aroma, fizzy, very little hops, abrupt finish. Not very remarkable.

12oz t.o. bottle. Deep amber color. Thin white ring. Malt nose, toasted grains, vanilla oak. Sweet flavor. Toasted malts, white oak, vanilla, buttered toast. Light finish. Well balanced, nicely lagered. Very light hop character, lends to style very well. (3831)

Bottle. Pours a crystal clear amber color with a moderate white head that disappears quite quickly. I get very little smell off this, just some hints of some corn and grains. This tastes more like a lager than most Oktoberfests to me, with some slight sweetness. Not a huge fan.

Barley husk aroma, hint of apple. Light orange or very dark yellow, very bubbly for this style. Mildly bitter, some malt sweetness. Very soft and slick all around, much too light on the malt to be a marzen beer, but an okay, sessionable product in it’s own right.

A decent but middling version, quite a bit of biscuit-y and malty goodness. Not super exciting. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Malty, nutty, slightly sweet with a hint of caramel. Smooth and full with a lingering finish and a hint of hops bitterness. Balanced overall.
