COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Blue Point Brewing’s "Old Howling Bastard" named after an infamous local character, this strong ale has plenty of character all its own. Made with English 2 row barley and Vienna malt. Reaching an alcohol content of 10% barleywine should be consumed in moderation. Strong malty caramel flavors balanced by lots and lots of hops. Try this in a snifter or wineglass. The trick is to never forget that after a few glasses you may become the "Old Howling Bastard"

22 oz. bottle with at least 18 months age, thanks to Adrien. Aroma is candy sugar, fruit (not dark fruit) almost citrus, mild floral hints. Flavor shows a lasting bitterness that lingers well after the sip and has the citrus and floral notes that are indicated in the aroma. More on the hoppy bitter side rather than sweet/ dark fruit end of spectrum.

75 cl bottle @ Timo A. 2003 vintage. Thanks rosenbergh!
Pours clear dark amber black color with a small head. Sweet raisins on the aroma, ripe fruits, dry malty notes, caramel and cocoa. Dried ripe fruits on the flavor, pine, faint resin, some alcohol, caramel, molasses, faint wooden notes. Some notes of being a bit old but very faint, the ripe fruit notes here are simply unreachable for any fresh brew. Unique but I’d like to taste this fresh also.
