COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Blue Point Brewing's Pale Ale has a light golden color but explodes with a rich full-flavor. This refreshing ale is top fermentated and hopped at three different stages of the brewing process. English pale malt lends complexity to this brew. Small amounts of Wheat and Carapils round out the malt bill. Brewed to satisfy the hop lover, this pale ale has an immediate floral-citrus flavor that pervades the overall character of this hoppy, quenching microbrew.

Medium sized short lasting head. Clear sparkling light orange color. Aoma of light malt and fresh oranges. Light fizzy palate. Flavor of oranges and sour grapefruit. Finishes with a light bitterness.

Bottle: The aroma consists of light caramel, grain, floral/grassy hops, and a hint of citrus. It pours a transparent gold with a three finger creamy off-white head that has excellent retention. Some sporadic webbing is left behind on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with a quick dose of caramel and a touch of citrus. The finish has light-moderate grapefruit mixed with some lighter grassy and floral hops. It’s light-medium bodied with soft carbonation and mouthfeel. Overall, it seems more like an English Pale Ale than American Pale Ale.

Poured from a 22-oz. bomber into a pint glass. Got it from one my buddies, which was a pleasant surprise. Color was a hazy orange copper. About a finger of head. Healthy amount of white bubbly lacing that lasted throughout the pour. Frothy wet film on the sides. Good whiff of citrus hops up front. Smelled more like an IPA than a pale ale. Seemed to mainly be tangerine and mandarin. Very refreshing. Didn’t taste as much as the smell as I would have liked. Citrus hops, more lemon than the smell. Lighter body. Thin, oily texture. Average-to-lively (above average) carbonation. Abrupt finish with some light bitterness. Somewhat refreshing though. Not a bad beer overall. It seems to be more in the middle of a pale ale and an IPA. That’s probably the intention. This would go down great in the summer.

This was quite good. Copper colored beer with an off-white head. Aromas of pine, and floral hops. Tastes of bitter pine hops, some herbal notes, mild lawn clipping, and tiny hints of grapefruit. Ends on a bittersweet note. Malts balance the hops quite nicely. Mild, yet tasty, and enjoyable.

from Mondial de la Bière 2011, Strasbourg - clear deep golden-bronze beer under a solid long lasting creamy foam; nice lacework; a fair flowery and slightly piney hoppiness, medium-bodied and with a assertive bitterness; slightly astringent; dry and bitter flowery hoppy finish - good though lacking of complexity

Review from notes at World of Beer - Fort Myers on 11/17/11. Poured on draft into a shaker pint glass. Appearance: Pours a light gold/caramel color with a 1-2 finger frothy eggshell white head. Excellent lacing. Smell: Nice blend of bitter citrus and malt. Taste: Sweet earthy malt up front followed by bitter citrus in the middle before ending with a very light and smooth finish. Aftertaste is bitter lemon zest and a touch of earthy malt. Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied with a good amount of carbonation. Drinkability: Very high drinkability. You could easily have a few of these over the course of an evening. Overall: Very good beer overall. One of the better American Pale Ales on the market.

Long Island, NY - 22 oz. poured a slightly hazy golden color with medium head and slight lacing. Aroma is hops mixed with a slight fruit aroma. Taste is mild but then develops with a thin layer of malt then fruitiness then hops. I love Blue Point! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This is a moderately decent pale ale. Very safe and simple with light grassy and citrusy hops with a lightly sweet malt profile.

Bomber courtesy of tgncc. Nice malty body, bitter finish. Not a very strong hop flavor but it’s ok.

Pour froma 22 oz bottle. Clear yellow brew with white head. Aroma of spicey hops, light malts. Taste is complex blend of light malts, spicey hops, dry finish. Overall, though, rather low key, with no ’knock you over the head’ characteristics. A nice, complex, and well crafted brew. Nicely priced and bound to be a regulare for me if I can find it.

Aroma was just so so. Appearance was light yellow. Nice head that lasted. Flavor was kind of watered down, somewhat astrigent. Not quite what I expected from BP
