According to Linus there are 3 things never to discuss with people: religion, politics, and the Great Pumpkin. Our Pumpkin Ale, on the other hand, has made quite a buzz from New Hampshire down to Florida. Every season has its pleasures. Harvest your own with our Pumpkin Ale and reap all that Autumn has to offer. Brewed with pumpkins from only the most sincere patches, this seasonal brew is golden orange, crisp and delicious, with an innocent hint of cinnamon and nutmeg that articulates our favorite season. Gather with friends and family and enjoy the change of seasons while savoring a pint of Pumpkin Ale. Just like the leaves, it’s gone after Thanksgiving.

Transfer from BA review on 10-12-13- Served on tap in a pint glass Appearance – The beer is served a deep copper orange color with a tiny just off white head. The head fades almost instantly leaving almost no lace on the sides of the glass. Smell – The aroma is quite light overall. It consists of smells of a roasted pumpkin with notes of pie spices (cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice) mixed within. Along with these aromas there are some smells of a caramel nature as well as a tiny amount of a bready smell with all the aromas producing a light pumpkin pie smell. Taste – The taste begins with a lighter roasted pumpkin taste with notes of cinnamon and nutmeg upfront. From the start, the taste has a decent level of brown sugar and caramel sweetness as well as some light bready tastes. The sweeter flavors begin fading a bit more toward the middle with the taste with the pumpkin becoming slightly stronger and more roasted as the taste moves on. While the roasted flavors increase, so too do the spice flavors with more cinnamon and nutmeg coming to the tongue and a newly tasted clove flavor joining the other spices. In the end the mix of flavors produces a very cinnimony and nutmegy but lightly roasted pumpkin flavor to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the average side in terms of it’s thickness and creaminess with a carbonation level that is on the slightly higher side. A slightly thicker body and lower carbonation may have been better for the roasted pumpkin flavors, but with that said, the medium body and higher carbonation did help calm the already big cinnamon and nutmeg flavors, so overall the feel fit the flavor profile alright. Overall – An alright pumpkin beer but a little too spice heavy for the sweet and pumpkin flavors. Ok, but nothing super exceptional.

12oz bottle from Xroads poured a clear medium density orange/amber with an average sized frothy white head. Aroma has some metallic notes about it, wet bread, pie crust, light nutmeg and all-spice. Medium body, average carbonation, creamy finish. Flavor of bad spice, old bread, earthy, bark, hint of cardboard. Meh.

On tap. Color is pale copper orange. Aroma is pumpkin, lots of cinnamon, some spice. Aroma is this beer’s best point. Flavor is some mild cinnamon, spices and otherwise a generic ale after the initial burst of pumpkin-esque flavors. Mouthfeel is eh. Notbing special. If pumpkin beers are not your thing, don’t go for this. If they are, there’s still better pumpkin beers.

Draft at the JFK BA lounge. Pours clear amber-gold with a creamy, off-white head. The nose has plenty of spiced pumpkin pie, some toast, nutmeg. Medium sweet flavor with nicely balanced toasted malts, some further pumpkin pine, cinnamon and nutmeg. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Sweet finish wth pumpkin-laced whole grain bread, restrained cinnamon and nutmeg, all spice, clove. Nice, straightahead pumpkin ale.

Pours reddish-brown with a huge, frothy, off-white head that stays forever. Nose is like fresh pumpkin bread. Taste is well-balanced with a nice hop bite. Medium body, frisky carbonation. Decent brew. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pours a clear dark copper to amber body with a one finger fizzy off-white head. The nose is super spicy with lots of cinnamon and nutmeg, but there’s a decent pumpkin meat note in there as well. Some sweet caramel and brown sugar notes. The flavor is quite sweet up front with lots of dark caramel and brown sugar. The spices emerge on the finish with a quite spicy cinnamon and nutmeg back end. Medium bodied and a bit clingy from all the residual sugars. The cinnamon gets a bit tiring by about mid bottle, it actually starts to develop a bit of heat. Meh, about par for the course for Pumpkin Ales, which is to say, not especially worth a second look.

Very nice but a little watery as most beers from this one. Like it and the aroma was very pumpkin alike.

Good orange pour w/ a white head that leaves lacing. The aroma seems to be dominated by the nutmeg. The taste is pretty spicy upfront & then finishes rather clean. It has a really nice creamy mouthfeel which is probably the best thing going w/ this beer. Not bad overall!

Smells if nutmeg predominantly. Maybe some cinnamon as well. Slight roasted malt aroma. Enjoyable aroma. Taste is mostly nutmeg dominated pumpkin flavor. But doesn't seem fake. Good flavor. Watery on the palate though. Enjoyable pumpkin. Close to post road, maybe a bit better but not sure. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
