Fruity malt aroma with a twist of hops. Brilliant deep gold in color with a nice head. Malty flavor with an earthy twang, hint of dough and a sour malt flavor. Some hop kick.

Pleasant, sweet, malty aroma. There is plenty of rye in the flavor, and it is well balanced with a nice sweetness. The weaknesses are a metallic edge to it and a bit of skank in the aroma, but this is a good brew.

Hazy yellow orange color with thin white lacing. Hints of rye and orange citrus on the nose. Palate is smooth and creamy with a citrus backing.

Pours a clear golden amber color with a medium white head. Aroma has notable rye...spicy/earthy with mild caramel and citrus. Flavor has good biiterness...spicy/bready/earth rye with faint caramely malt. Mouthfeel is medium/full with a malty/spicy bitter finish.

Lanchester (143) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 4, 2012
Pours a copper/orange hue topped with a thin off-white head. Aroma is a blend of rye-bread, pine and fresh grapefruit. Smooth caramel maltiness up front in the flavor quickly gives way to a resinous and floral hop profile; finishes with a slight lingering bitterness and rye-grain aromatics. Surprisingly silky on the palate, makes for an easy drinking experience. Good use of the rye to add further depth to the classic Pale Ale style.

Bottle: The aroma consists of caramel, rye, toastiness, light grapefruit, and faint floral notes. It pours a transparent golden-orange with a two finger white head that fades to a thin film within a minute or so. The flavor starts with moderate caramel and a hint of fruit. The finish has some toastiness, rye, herbal notes, and light grapefruit. It’s medium bodied with mild carbonation.

Poured a deep amber color with the hint of a wheat induced head, almost but not quite creamy. The unmistakeable taste of rye maltiness and slighty green slightly citrusy hops. Crisp finish, a solid rye.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Dancing Camel Florentine. Thanks David Cohen. Clear amber color. Resinous hops aroma, slightly stale, with some malt. Sweetish flavor with malt, a bit of caramel, grainy hints, light fruitiness and a moderately bitter finish with some hops. Medium-bodied.
