Bottle. Dull brown color, coca-cola head. Aroma of chocolate muffin. Tastes like sour root beer. Interesting, and probably worth trying again.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Drank from the tap at the Blue Point Brewery. Aroma is roasted malt and a barely noticeable hint of cherry. Taste is mostly of malt, a little bit of chocolate and just the slightest kick of sour cherry. 9% abv is well hidden.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft. Small tan head atop brown/black body. Aroma is moderately sweet, milk chocolate, cherry, light duskiness. Taste is moderately sweet, milk chocolate, cherry, light sourness, wood. Smooth medium body, alcohol well contained. A tasty beer despite the relative absence of the sourness mentioned in the beer’s name.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Draft @ R’n’H. Dark pour with tan head. Slight cherry, slight soutes., chemical/medicinal cherry notes. Should be a mix of two of my favorite styles, let down.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On draft at Rattle ’N’ Hum. I was drawn to it because ’sour’ was in the name. Pours a dark brown colour with a tan head. Aroma of malts, cherries and espresso. Flavour of sour cherries, malts, grains and maybe a hint of coffee and milk. Smooth and palatable. The aroma was a bit weak.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Consumed at Rattle’n’Hum during a lively session of beer tasting and football watching. Floral cherry aroma. Fully hopped and a bit bitter with some alcohol warmth. I am not really crazy about the mixture of bitter hops, floral cherry, and toasted grains. It is a good brew, but I felt more respect than affection for it.

On tap at Rattle-N-Hum in NYC. Pours charcoal black in color with a trim beige head. Smells and tastes of dark cherries, cream, toasted malts, caramel, and coffee. Probably the best beer I’ve tried from Blue Point. Good stuff.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
tap at RnH. Pours dark black with no head. Arouma of coffee and fruit. The combination works better than I thought it would, though I think the cherry is a bit too sweet and not enough fruit acids in there, almost like artificial cherry syrup. It’s got a nice hoppy kick to finish. Alcohol is hidden well.
