COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Truly worthy its majestic name in fluid ounces, our Sour Cherry Imperial Stout is anything but sour. In fact, we have to make sure there’s plenty of it available for Valentine’s Day – after all, nothing says love like chocolates and a Sour Cherry Imperial Stout. This is an extremely complex version of the classic Russian beer style with plenty of roasted, black, and chocolate malts that delivers multi-layered coffee and sherry notes in a surprisingly smooth package. The beer is then matured with just a kiss of real sour red cherries. If you see Sour Cherry Imperial Stout on tap, give it a try – like true love, it’s sometimes hard to find.

Not a bad beer. Ok stout. Where is the sour cherry flavor. If I was given this blind folded, no way would have thought sour cherry. It was a good stout , but you could get better .

At Valhalla with Stefan. Pours black with no head. Aroma is chocolate malt, mild cherry, big vanilla. Taste is chocolate creamy malt, marshmallow.

Ale Alpharetta December Meeting. Not sure that I have liked any cherry imperial stouts that I have had. This one is not an exception. Nose of molasses, roasted malts, touch of cherry juice, dark chocolate. Taste does not show that much sour cherry. More of a sherry/cherry note but not sour per se. Same roast, chocolate, molasses. Just not a big fan of cherry stouts I am starting to learn.

Pours a dark brown with a voluminous off white head. Aroma is complex with roasted malt, dark stone fruit, and cherry. Moderately sweet flavor with a tart short lasting finish. Overall great stout for the winter.

Black with tan head. Aroma is malty with coffee and cocoa notes with a bit of tartness. Taste is extremely smooth and well rounded. There is a slight sourness to it that compliments the the darker flavors. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

The aroma has some chocolate and coffee and a hint of cherry. The flavor has the same with the cherry more noticeable. I like the cherry but the base of the beer is a bit weak for an Imperial.

Had a glass on tap as part of a sampler at Ashley’s in Ann Arbor. Definitely not much sour or cherry, but this is delicious and decadant.

Black pour. Small tan head. Plenty of lacing. Fruity bread aroma. Stone fruit. Taste is a toasted grain and slight sour cherry. Pretty good.

Dirty brown pour with light tan head. Aroma is musty and chocolate. Taste is standard stout. Maybe a little light on the chocolate and coffee.
