COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Truly worthy its majestic name in fluid ounces, our Sour Cherry Imperial Stout is anything but sour. In fact, we have to make sure thereís plenty of it available for Valentineís Day Ė after all, nothing says love like chocolates and a Sour Cherry Imperial Stout. This is an extremely complex version of the classic Russian beer style with plenty of roasted, black, and chocolate malts that delivers multi-layered coffee and sherry notes in a surprisingly smooth package. The beer is then matured with just a kiss of real sour red cherries. If you see Sour Cherry Imperial Stout on tap, give it a try Ė like true love, itís sometimes hard to find.

Not a very strong aroma, faint hints of malt and fruits. Pours very dark with moderate head and satisfying lacing. Tastes of chocolate, with a slight hint of mild cherries, no sour taste could be distinguished. Produced a full and hearty mouthfeel. Overall, a delicious beer.

Pours very dark brown with a foamy and very leggy tan head. Aroma is coffee malts and a touch of plum. Taste is chocolate, coffee - more bitter malts- plum wine and, of course, a touch of cherry. Slightly sour bitterness in the aftertaste. Opens up with some warming. Interesting. Good.

Draft sample. Deep brown with small tan head. Sour cherries with roasted and chocolate malts. More interesting than good.

Walnut aroma with faint plum. Black, thick tan head. Tree bark, sour plum, some vegetal notes. Medium body. Eh, I donít like fruited stouts, and this one I particularly didnít like.

9/13/2014. On tap. Dark brown with a tan head. Roasted malt, chocolate, cherries and coffee. Bitter malt flavors, amplified by the cherries, yet with balance. Smooth finish.

Bottle. Pours muddy, midnight black with decent tan head. Aroma is black cherry, dark chocolate, a bit of espresso. Taste is bitter/sour cherry right up front. It doesnít develop any sweetness or real body. The malts kick in with a bit of the advertised chocolate/coffee, but it feels like a weird mix here.

Maybe a hint of sour cherry, so for those that aren't fans of sour beers should not steer away from this brew. It is a delicious imperial stout! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours deep mahogany into a snifter. Mocha head with medium retention recedes to skim surface. Chocolate and sour funk aromas. Soft with dark chocolate and cherry front to back. Lasting warming finish.

22oz bomber thanks to JohnGonk. Poured a thin dark brown color with a thick frothy tan head. Aroma is nice. Some tart funk, sour cherry, roasted malt, and milk chocolate. Taste of tart cherries and funk up front, followed by roasted malt, light char, and chocolate in the finish.
