On draft at Rattle ’N’ Hum. I was drawn to it because ’sour’ was in the name. Pours a dark brown colour with a tan head. Aroma of malts, cherries and espresso. Flavour of sour cherries, malts, grains and maybe a hint of coffee and milk. Smooth and palatable. The aroma was a bit weak.

On tap at pour house last year for blue point takeover day. Pours a very dark brown. Aromas of chocolate, roasted malt, burnt wood, coffee, not much cherry coming through in the aroma or taste. Decent stout but lacked the cherry flavor I wanted, bells cherry stout it is.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 jb (1600) - Rochester, New York, USA - MAR 31, 2012
On tap at Tap and Mallet. Again, rating at a bar, I don’t detect as much in the nose in that setting.
Standard looking jet black with slight red. In a snifter, started with a gorgeous head, quite attractive. Nose is slight cherry along with roasted notes. Palate is not extremely complex but thick, whit a slightly tart cherry edge, especially as it warms. Pretty drinkable.
3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Ron (1693) - Rochester, New York, USA - MAR 29, 2012
On tap at Tap and Mallet. This goblet of beer came with a black color with a touch of red at the edges and almost no head at all. The aroma was sour cherry, a touch of malt and a hint of molasses. The flavor was an intriguing mix of roasty malts and tangy cherry with a malty middle and a long light cherry finish. Very interesting.

Draft at Crunchy’s, East Lansing. Deep opaque brown-black body, medium creamy light brown head. Light roasty, chocolaty aroma. Inky body with tannic, slightly tart cherry, on the dry side with modest sweetness. Enjoyable but safe.

Draft in snifter; I didn’t pick up chocolate, cherry, or any fruitiness. All in all it was a decent imperial stout that I would drink when available.

Draft. Deep black color. Smells of cherry and booze. Tastes like a chocolate covered cherry with a tart finish. Lighter then I’d expect. Really good
