Copper, creamy off white head. Lightly toasted caramel notes ride undercurrents of soft chocolate and bread. Soft toffee biscuit notes round with a light hop bitterness. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Quite drinkable..

12 oz bottle: A deep amber caramel color, with a nice caramel aroma and flavor. Mostly malts are the flavor with a littly too watery of a flavor. Its good, but seems thin. Has some grain/wheat/grass flavor as well. A touch of citrus.

UPDATED: APR 29, 2009 On tap at Coles. Good tap handle sub par beer. Little aroma miniscule caramel malts. Light to medium caramel color. Little taste beyond some sweet caramel malts. Probably will sell due to Buxom Blonde tap handle & mass market limited palates.

On-tap at Cole’s. Some colour, a bit of hop aroma. But then too sweet to take seriously, though some citrus behind it. A lagerish version of orange punch? A bit above average mouthfeel. Some drinkability to it, dessertish. Blue point is doing beer a bit differently, however to appeal to mass public.

12oz bottle. Pours a nice amber with a thin head of tight white bubbles. Aroma is sweet caramel malts and just a touch of cleansing hops. Flavors are sweet, but still bright and fresh. Very easy to drink.

Poured a copper hue with a thin white head. Aroma was rather weak with some malt notes and a grainy note. Water was present in the aroma. Flavor was also mild but did have a slightly bitter grain note. It did not seem hoppy. Finish was smooth and light. Crisp summer beer.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Location: 6 pack of 12 oz bottles from a Morton Williams in NYC
Aroma: Citrus, caramel, grains
Appearance: Copper, clear, thin white head
Flavor: Grainy sweetness, a little caramel (stronger in the nose then the taste) and a citrus finish
Palate: Medium (tending toward light) body, nice smooth drink
Overall this is a decent springtime beer (though it was pretty cold in NYC last week). I guess its grouped as a specialty grain due to the rye taste, but otherwise I thought the labeling of copper ale was pretty accurate. Nice offering, will save a few for warmer days, and see how they do in that environment.
