COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Blue Point Brewing's Summer Ale has a delicious golden taste. In addition to traditional barley malt; a substantial portion of wheat malt is added to the mix giving this brew a unique tartness that's not found in many beers today. A small amount of lemon is added with one other "special" ingredient that all combine together to produce a light, thirst-quenching, citrus flavor microbrew enjoyed by all on a hot, Long Island Summer day.

The aroma is refreshing with citrus hops, yeast, malt, a bit of fruit, and spice. The appearance is golden with a smallish head. The taste is like the aroma. The palate is thin but right for the style. The beer is drinkable and refreshing overall but not impressive.

Tap @ Boston/NY 2009. Named southwest summer ale. Slight hazy golden color, medium head. Quite carbonated. Bit wheat, bit sweet. Quite boring taste.

FROTHINGSLOSH (3386) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 20, 2010
Sampled on draft at the Headkeeper in Greensburg PA this beer poured a pale yellow color with a medium sized white head that faded quickly. The aroma was bland with faint dry malts. The flavor was dry and a bit nutty with a faint hint of floral hops. The finish was long and dry. Bland.

oteyj (1882) - Washington DC, USA - MAY 13, 2010
Clear golden pour with a large three finger white head. The aroma is primarily sweet caramel malt with a touch of fruity yeast esters. There’s really not much going for it. The flavor is toast, cereal grains, and mild bready/caramel malt with a non existent finish. The palate is thin, watery, crisp, and clean. Thoroughly unimpressed.

Bottle. Pours a macro clear gold with standard white head. Aroma of rice wine, some floral hops, and corn. Flavor of corn, cereal malt, and rice wine. Mouthfeel is thin, a bit crisp but soft overall. The cereal malt quality permeates in the finish. This had a tad more depth than I expected but was too sweet with the corn.

A bready, citrusy, beer with a fine, slightly watery aftertaste. A refreshing and light choice for a hot summer day.

Light color with a small head. Aroma is light, some sweetness and light bitterness. Flavor is balanced and nicely drinkable for a summer. Some light sweetness and faint citrus hops.

Leighton (4094) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 8, 2009
Bottle. Pours a light yellow with a thin, fizzy head. Weak nose of wheat and some mild citrus. Flavor is light and crisp, some hints lemony and tartness, along with some metallic notes. Very light body, very bubbly and, as I said, crisp. Nothing special but probably refreshing on a hot day. (I drank it in late November.)

Found a single bottle of this leftover from trying it over the summer. Pours a clear yellowish-orange color with a small white head that comes and goes fast. Aroma is citrus, floral, hops, and apricots. This beer has tart lemon-y type taste to it, and the finish to me is kind of reminiscent of Dogfish’ Festian Peche. Very light body and thin texture. Nothing too extravagant but I could definitely be "quaffed" on a hot summer day
