COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Blue Point Brewing's Summer Ale has a delicious golden taste. In addition to traditional barley malt; a substantial portion of wheat malt is added to the mix giving this brew a unique tartness that's not found in many beers today. A small amount of lemon is added with one other "special" ingredient that all combine together to produce a light, thirst-quenching, citrus flavor microbrew enjoyed by all on a hot, Long Island Summer day.

I thought this beer smelled and tasted delicious, and this was with a stuffy nose. It was subtly fruity and a nice smooth blond tasting brew. Well done Long Island.

Better than most summer ales. Aroma is of thier toasted lager- only subdued slightly. Color is very pale and crystal clear. Nice hoppy and malty balance. Quite bitter for most summer ales which usually skimp on the hoppiness. Very nice.

Appearance: clear honey gold, one-finger white head, substantial lacing. Aroma: toasted wheat bread with honey butter, lemon zest and some spices. Taste: as the aroma indicates, with good grainy/bready notes, citrus, and a little hoppy spice. Finish: lingering sweet notes of wheat toast. Notes: Seemed like a great summer drinking session beer to me. I quite liked the flavors. Similar to (but with less citrus and hops than) the Great Lakes Oberon.

Draught sample. Pours gold with a white head. Smells of sweet caramel malt, some light citrussy hints. Tastes of citrus, caramel, grassy, some perfumy hints on the finish.

Nice light wheat beer, hints of lemon and citrus; simple, refreshing summer brew.

On tap - Specific Gravity, Salisbury Md. Hazy golden pour w/a moderate white head. Aromas of wheat & yeast. Smooth easy drinking summer brew, flavors of yeast, a little citrus, very "witbierish". Not a complex, epic brew, but it is a good example of this style. If you just want something to knock back a few before/with dinner w/o getting too filled up or buzzed, this is a good choice. Moderate dry finish.

Bottle. I enjoyed one of these while working in my warehouse yesterday. It’s subtle malt flavor with nuances of lemon and grain. It went down easy and I thought I could handle a few more in the recent warm weather.

I like this beer. I brought it from home to some freinds in Philly, they werent impressed. I like it beacuse I could put it down quick and don’t have a problem drinking it all night. A little light, but quite alright.

a good summertime drink. not a lot of ’summer’ flavor -- but a good light brew when it’s ice cold coming out of a cooler
