COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Blue Point Brewing's Summer Ale has a delicious golden taste. In addition to traditional barley malt; a substantial portion of wheat malt is added to the mix giving this brew a unique tartness that's not found in many beers today. A small amount of lemon is added with one other "special" ingredient that all combine together to produce a light, thirst-quenching, citrus flavor microbrew enjoyed by all on a hot, Long Island Summer day.

Bottle, this ale had a clear gold-yellow pour and made a two finger white head that receded to a thin cover, the effervescence was about medium or so, this drink left spots and fingers of lacing on the glass, there was no sediment in the bottle, it had aromas of light malt and bread, a little citrus and mild fruit, and faint sweetness, the flavors were light malt and wheat with faint pear fruit, bread and some citrus in the background, the finish had a soft bitterness, the mouth feel was light on the palate, the carbonation was average or a little more, a ok beer.

Pours gold with a white head. Aroma is grass and wet hay. Taste is sweet. Loght mouth feel. Overall this makes a good summer beer for after the beach. There just isnt much going on.

Aroma is a mess. Corn, sweetness, alcohol, slight hops. Reminiscent of bud but better. Surprised by the taste, much better than I expected. Tons of wheat, corn, cereal, floral hops, and a touch of lemon. Sweet, crisp and refreshing. A touch of funk but not bad. Nice amount of carbonation. Would be perfect for a BBQ or such on a hot summer day.

Appearance: clear honey gold, one-finger white head, substantial lacing. Aroma: toasted wheat bread with honey butter, lemon zest and some spices. Taste: as the aroma indicates, with good grainy/bready notes, citrus, and a little hoppy spice. Finish: lingering sweet notes of wheat toast. Notes: Seemed like a great summer drinking session beer to me. I quite liked the flavors. Similar to (but with less citrus and hops than) the Great Lakes Oberon.

Appearance is a small white head with clear amber. Aroma is a sweet malt, but not strong. Taste is a sweet lemon malt. Overall it could have more character.

A craft brew that tastes like a watery domestic light beer. Devoid of any noticeable flavor that one would otherwise associate with a sturdy brewer like Blue Point.

12 oz bottle from Decanted. Pours amber in colour, with moderate white frothy head. Aroma and taste are mild sweet malt, with some citrusy hints. Nice and refreshing for summer drinking!

12oz bottle pours gold / copper with white head. The aroma offers up mild puffs of floral hops and spicy hops with a slick smelling sugary maltiness off in the background. I think I also get sugar dusty marshmallows too. The taste is a mix of bad tasting sugary sweet floral hops and more pleasing notes of grainy malts and spicy hops. Overall the sweetness of this one out paces the more interesting fresh malty and hoppy notes.

Pours a warm yellow-orange color with a thin cream-colored head. The aroma features a faint combination of light, lemony wheat characteristics and a slight citric tartness. The flavor is likewise light, with a mild fruitiness that seems like some combination of banana and orange. The texture is light and fizzy, which works with the mild flavors. Overall, this one is a pleasant, easy beer that is appropriate for the heat of summer, but there is nothing that stands out among other mild summer offerings.
