COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Blue Point Brewing’s Toasted Lager is our flagship product. Copper in color this brew is made from Six different malts including: English Pale, Crystal, Munich, Carapils, Wheat and Belgian Caravienna. Toasted Lager displays a balanced flavor of malt and hop which makes it easy drinking. Special lager yeast is used to produce that long lasting, smooth finish. The "toasted" part of the name refers to our direct-fire brew kettle; hot flames imparts a toasted flavor to our most popular microbrew.

This is a good overall lager. I’m not sure I taste the toasted part of it but definitely worth a try.

Bottle: nice, full, complex, malty. Food Pairing: ceviche, shrimps, dips. Good.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled 11/08/2011. Pours slightly hazy golden orange color with a nice 2 finger dense off white head with great retention that reduces to a thick cap that lingers. Some decent soapy lacing clings to the glass. Aromas of apricot, caramel, toasted malt, bread, and light spiciness. Some decent malty aromas with good strength and balance. Taste of toasted malt, bread, caramel, light fruit, nuttiness, and floral spices. Fairly dry finish; but some lingering notes of bread, toasted grain, light fruit, and herbal spice on the finish for a bit. Medium carbonation and body; with a slightly creamy mouthfeel. Alcohol is well hidden with only a slight warming on the finish present. Smooth and easy drinkability. Good balance of flavors. Overall this is a solid and drinkable Vienna Lager offering. Good amount of flavor and balance.

Pours a dark yellow, slight-hazy orange with surprisingly good, thick fluffy-white head. Good all-around lacing. I can detect notes of grain, faint malt and some dry grassiness. Not a bad aroma, just kind of dull, and a little off. More of the same on the tongue, with a light body and typical-lager high carbonation. Some nuts here and there to go with it. Overall, not a very exciting brew, but it is what it is: a boring old lager. Good for sessions and when you just need something light.

On tap at Duffy’s in Port St. Lucie. Pours dark orangey-brown with an off white head. Aroma brings toffee, some grain, caramel malts. Taste has caramel, some bread, a slightly syrupy sweetness. Finishes medium length.

12oz bottle courtesy of beerbill, pours brownish/amber with a small off-white head. Aroma has a simple caramel maltiness. Predominately caramel malts with slight hints toasted flavor, and yeast on the finish. Kind of a muddled mess, but not horribly unpleasent.

Pretty rich lager flavor reminiscent of toasted nuts or bread. The malt flavor comes through a bit, but not as much as one would like.

Pour from a 22oz bottle. Light amber brew with small head. Aroma of fant floral hops, maybe a little toasted malt. Taste reveals respectable complexity to the malts, though rather thin and weak. Nice but modest hops in the finish. A nice brew.
