COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Blue Point Brewing’s Toasted Lager is our flagship product. Copper in color this brew is made from Six different malts including: English Pale, Crystal, Munich, Carapils, Wheat and Belgian Caravienna. Toasted Lager displays a balanced flavor of malt and hop which makes it easy drinking. Special lager yeast is used to produce that long lasting, smooth finish. The "toasted" part of the name refers to our direct-fire brew kettle; hot flames imparts a toasted flavor to our most popular microbrew.

On tap in the lounge at JFK. Hazy golden amber colour. Hint of caramel on the nose. Slightly metallic harsh initial taste, thin finish with a sweetish caramel flavour. Not great.

I find it to be unattractively 'toasty'. It needs more maltiness for balance; as it is, quite one dimensional and careful tasting doesn't yield any reward. Better to just chug it down quick. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On draft at Epcot center. Pours a hazy orange with an off-white head. Nose is toast, bread, light citrus, and lager yeast. Flavor starts with some nice maltiness followed by some light grass and citrus hops finished by some lager yeast. Medium to full in body for the style and a nice lager overall. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

The toasted name does hold true for this. The citrus notes stand input which makes for an interesting brew.

Bottle. Light spritzy citrus in the nose but much more sour grain and stale air, a little bit of toasted grain. Orange-golden body with a frothy beige head. Grainy and strongly toasted flavor, quite sweet with low bitterness, does have a nice crisp pils feel, fullish body, some earth and toffee. Not terrible, just a little dirty.

Blue points best for sure. Yet to go to the brewery but this is found reliably easy around NY area.

On tap, poured into a plastic cup at Rose (Rose’s?) Pizza in the lower level of Penn Station. Good with a hot slice of margherita and ESPN blaring on several flatscreens, each with a slight discrepancy in audio feed, causing a stereo chorus effect.

12 FL OZ bottle purchased from Top Shelf Brews for $1.69. Although I drank this straight from the bottle, it pours orange with a trim, soapy whitish head. Aromas of onions, cedar, sourdough, olives, noble hops, honey and pilsener malt. Tastes the same with the addition of vitamins, tobacco, and juniper berries at swallow. Brief citrus by mid-palate. Not too bad. Enjoyable, even if it has some strange flavors.

24 Jan 2013. Our ship had just left Montego Bay and we were heading towards Cartagena in Columbia: I was thirsty and decided to open a pint and 6oz bottle of this brew to slate that thirst. Poured into one of my stateroom tumblers (three times) it showed a light amber body with an off-white head. Toffee nose with a malty caramel taste: this is a semi-sweet brew with a drying finish of hop bitterness: I quite liked it.
