COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Each extremely limited, special batch of Blue Point Wet Hops Experiment is hop-backed with 100 pounds of “wet” Pacific Northwest hops. Wet hops are fresh off the vine and must be used within 48 hours for maximum aroma and bitterness potency; which means we only brew a couple batches in late summer when the first harvests of west coast hops can be shipped overnight. Vienna, Melanoidin, Munich, Crystal and chocolate malts amount to a nice, medium body. The Mt. Rainier, Cascade and Crystal hop base is rounded out by Amarillo and Simcoe wet hops after the boil to lend a grassy, resiny finish to this well balanced, easy drinking, dark copper session ale

Rare beer. First time aroiund I missed this on tap at the bocktown. This time, I got a taste. Rare beer. Hah, just what I thot, a apa advertized as an ipa. Smells like your girlfriends BO, but in an inviting way. Hey, not an ipa, just a well behaved apa, no lie. Yes, some mild bitterness but for the most part never gets near ipa status. Friendly and easy to take. If this is an ipa, its one of the best I’ve tasted.

Darkish in color. Nice frothy head and caramel aroma. Light to drink but full flavor.

Draft. Deep amber body with a off-white head. Raw hop aroma: Resin, caramel, pine, toasted grain. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. It finishes lightly sweet and moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Earthy raw hop flavor, but falls short of a resin bomb. Some husky grain tempered with pepper and grapefruit.

Very, very good. Hop aroma is big, flavor is all hops but still not over the top. Drinks very easy, very smooth. I’m going back for more of this awesome APA.

Draft at Capone’s. Pours deep copper with off-white head. Big resiny piney hops in the nose, with spare caramel malt. Tastes very resiny piney, and hoppy, with notes of black pepper, grapefruit, and caramel malt. This one is smooth and quaffable.

On tap at Gingerman after our our bar crawl through Brooklyn. Pours a faintly hazed amber orange with a thin to medium sized white to beige head. Spicy hops, malt, toast. Earthy but a bit empty. Malty, soft malt, toast, long light bitterness. Easy drinking but still overall just a bit lacking.

Tried at Coffee District in Delray Beach, Fl. Pours a very nice, deep red. Good two finger head and some lace. Mild hops but with that refreshing wet hop flavor.

FROTHINGSLOSH (4035) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 13, 2012
Sampled on draft at the Headkeeper this beer poured brown with caramel highlights and a medium sized foamy dark tan head that left decent lacing. The aroma was pine, catbox, patchouli and had an earthy undertone. The flavor was roughish pine, catbox, patchouli, pepper, mint and again had an earthy quality. Long pine, patchouli and mint finish. Medium bodied. Solid.
