COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Each extremely limited, special batch of Blue Point Wet Hops Experiment is hop-backed with 100 pounds of “wet” Pacific Northwest hops. Wet hops are fresh off the vine and must be used within 48 hours for maximum aroma and bitterness potency; which means we only brew a couple batches in late summer when the first harvests of west coast hops can be shipped overnight. Vienna, Melanoidin, Munich, Crystal and chocolate malts amount to a nice, medium body. The Mt. Rainier, Cascade and Crystal hop base is rounded out by Amarillo and Simcoe wet hops after the boil to lend a grassy, resiny finish to this well balanced, easy drinking, dark copper session ale

Thanks Erica, This was poured into a pint glass. The appearance was a hazy burnt orange color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within less than forty seconds. Light lacing came across and ended up trickling along the sides of the glass. The smell had a glossed over burnt bitter citrus hops with a light caramel malt coming in and out. The taste was mainly the same thing. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation was somewhat sharp but nothing overbearing. Light citrus sharpness rolled over the tongue. Overall, decent APA, think I could do this again.

Bottle. Moderate aromas all around, with grain and straw for the malt, herbs, grass and pine for the hops, soap for the yeast, with a hint of pepper in the background. Head is small, frothy, white with good lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is murky, medium amber. Flavor starts faintly sweet and lightly acidic, then finishes lightly acidic and moderately bitter. Palate is medium, slick with a lively carbonation. This American Pale Ale has nice hop aromas up front and a pleasant flavor and feel to finish it off.

22 oz. bottle. Pours initially a clear amber with a moderate -large linen white head. Subsequent pours yield a lightly hazed beer. Pleasant aroma of grass and caramel. There are a few weak notes of citrus and pine, but given the fact that this beer is supposedly wet-hopped with lots of "C" hops, this beer is seemingly devoid of fragrance. The flavor is malt and caramel followed by some grassy hops bitterness, again, lacking in the citrus and pine promised by wet-hopping. This doesn’t appear to be an old bottle, so I’m not sure what the excuse is, but this beer is certainly a disappointment to me.

Jacksonville, Fl. - Grassroots Natural Market - 22 oz bomber. Hazy dark golden pour, soft, pillowy snow white head, lots of sticky lacing. Fresh, resiny hoppy aroma with piney stickiness, a hint of spearmint. Juicy flavor with a solid malty, caramel profile, plenty of sticky sweet grapefruit bittersweet notes, some spearmint and nectarines to round it out. Nice, thick rich mouthfeel. Packs quite punch for the low ABV.

Bottle. Pours a bright yellow with a bit of an amber tint. Big frothy head that sticks around for the duration. There’s a hint of citric acidity in the initial whiff, but the drink brings a pretty stark lemon-lime-like acidic sting. But the beer is quite light in body and general palate. (#5405, 1/5/2013)

Nice deep copper coloured body with a thin tan head and a good deep glow. Aroma of fresh hops (of course), alcohol, apricots, light malt and a bit of resin. Medium-bodied; Strong hop flavours at first with a mild alcohol and fruity kick with a subdued maltiness and a touch of sugar at the back. Aftertaste shows some mellow but fragrant hops, a little earthiness and some subtle sweetness throughout from fruit. Overall, a nice fresh-hop beer, perhaps a bit past its prime, but still showing a lot of hops and depth. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased earlier today from the Corner Store (Bait and Tackle) in West Palm Beach, Florida on 30-December-2013 for US$5.99 sampled in my hotel room here in Jupiter, Florida on 30-December-2013.

Location: 22 oz bottle from Buy Rite, 12/27/13

Aroma: The aroma is clean hops, grapefruit/orange, pine, and some sweet caramel malts
Appearance: It pours a clear orange color with a small white head and drippy lace
Flavor: Tastes along the same lines, with clean hops, light bitterness, and some nice sweetness
Palate: The mouthfeel is clean and smooth, average carbonation, and a clean, dry finish
Overall Impression: This is a pretty tasty wet hop offering. The hop flavors work nicely, though it isn’t a particularly bitter one considering the style. Still though, I like how this turned out. This is some nice stuff.
