COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Remaining at the forefront of experimentation, the brewers at Blue Point have produced a white beer/IPA hybrid that is well on its way to creating a new style for the beer description books. Our White IPA is an unfiltered European-style white ale with a fresh American IPA finish. Brewed with malted and unmalted wheat and just the right amount of west coast hops, it’s fermented with German yeast to give it a perfectly balanced character with less bitterness than traditional IPAs.

The aroma is citrus, pepper. The appearance is hazy amber. The flavor is pepper, citrus, lemon especially. The finish is pepper, belgian yeast. Medium in body, slightly thin actually. Pretty good.

12oz can in NYC. Great crisp summery ipa. Clean bright yellow, dry fruity hops. Herb notes, bright dry and refreshing, fruity ipa

Tallahassee, Fl - Momo’s Pizza - on tap. Slightly murky, medium golden pour, soft white head, good sticky lacing. Aroma has some floral notes, some citrus fruity notes, a hint of spruce. Flavor is citrusy and sweet and reminiscent of juicy fruit gum. Some clove and spearmint notes make their way into the back end. Crisp mouthfeel. Refreshing.

6/27/12. On tap in a pint glass. Barely hazy, almost clear golden pour with a small frothy khaki head. Mix of resinous hops and orange with that spuced chickeb soup witbier aspect in there as well. Slightly bready malt presence with sweet orange peel and a definite yeast presence in the flavor. There is a noticable hop presence but if this were given to me blind I’d probably guess wit/Belgian. Meh.

Pours a light golden yellow on tap with thin white head that dissipates and little to no lacing. Aroma of belgian yeast and slight hops. Taste follows suit, but the hops are kind of gone. A belgian IPA wannabe.

Rated at Brew Bern 2012. This was definitely a lighter IPA with a bit of sweetness to it. You get some of the hoppiness coming through, but it’s an easier drink.

Draft at Proof. Golden pour with a fluffy white head. Nose is overly phenolic and estery with hop spice and lemon. Flavor is pale malt sweetness, phenols and touches of spicy hops. Finishes sweet and chewy. Not my thing.

On tap at Mug’s Ale House in Williamsburg. Pours a bright, hazy golden orange. Citrus hops and curacao on the nose. Floral and sweet-smelling, with some yeast notes. Taste is sweet and floral.

Beershine (5212) - The Sunshine State, Florida, USA - JUN 19, 2012
Draft at Tap 42. Pale gold, small but stable head. Looks like an English summer ale. Smells chewier than expected, or at least was hoping for. Sweet whispers of orange plus coriander, but simplistic. Feels heavier and graver than it should, as the flavors are thin and inconsequential except for the sharp herbal perfume oils in the finish. I can see where they’re going, but they haven’t arrived. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Quite pale straw colour. Thin head. Aroma is quite floral w some vague hop notes. Sweet and lightly spicy but there is some bandaid in there as well. Overall the package is more interesting than effective.
