Commercial Description:
Blue Point Brewing's Winter Ale is a hearty and robust amber ale. Brewed to chase away the chill of a cool winter night. Made with Pale, Vienna, crystal and chocolate malt. This uncommon amber is only brewed during the cold months of the year. Winter Ale is an extremely popular seasonal specialty. Enjoy the tasty balance of malt and hops. Remember this special ale leaves with Winter.

Bottled. Ruby red, not much head. Grassy, hoppy nose with ryeish and fruity notes. Also some weak barnyardish notes can be found. Strong grassy malty and hoppy flavour with some spicy hints. Quite watery palate after all the different stronger ABV stuff. Good for a 4,5% though.

Bottled (BB 04/2006)
Clear ruby red color, small off-white head. Rye-malty aroma with some barnyardish notes. Malty, a bit hoppy too. Good palate for a 4.5% brew. Balanced, solid but a bit boring beer.

From the bottle, pours a clear amber with visible rising carbonation bubbles leading to a foamy off-white head that leaves a nice lacing on the glass. Aromas of sweet malts. Tastes malty, with some bitters. Tasty, but finishes of bitter grassy hops. Not a pleasant aftertaste.

Bottle at Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Amber with rich white head. Soapy caramel aroma. Clean caramel flavour, notes of oranges and grass. Carmel and cedarwood in the short finish.

12oz bottle shared thanks to weeare138. Bottle notched best before April 06. Poured a medium and clear amber color with a very small sized off white head. Aromas of citrus, caramel and light cardboard. Tastes of citrus and caramel. Body on the watery/thin side.

Thanks to weeare138. Pours a rusty orange amber with a small off white head. Aroma of sweet malts, picking up some lighter hops. Flavors of the same. Nothing too breakthrough but a middle of the road Amber Ale.

Bottle @ Oliver Twist, Stockholm
Rich white head. Fruity lager aroma, almost like a Czech. Rich in CO2. I think I could taste a bit of rice in this brew, both in aroma and taste. Slightly thin body and a bit oxidized perhaps.
