Commercial Description:
Blue Point Brewing's Winter Ale is a hearty and robust amber ale. Brewed to chase away the chill of a cool winter night. Made with Pale, Vienna, crystal and chocolate malt. This uncommon amber is only brewed during the cold months of the year. Winter Ale is an extremely popular seasonal specialty. Enjoy the tasty balance of malt and hops. Remember this special ale leaves with Winter.

Had this on tap. Never a big fan of the style, but id say this is a slightly better than the majority. Caramel color, similar mouth with medium body. Would of liked to see something bigger here.

12oz bottle-pours a rich tan head that reduces to a ring and copper/red color. Aroma is mild medium malt-toffee. Later as it warms, some fruit too. Tast is medium malt-toffee, secondary earthy hops. Towards medium body. Thanks to Joe-jwc215 for picking this out.

cask at Mahars. Pours dark brown with a small head. Flavor was watery even for a cask beer. Nothing good stands out here, just a below average session beer.

Bottle. Dark brown with white head. Very similar to other winters I have had, though a little weaker in strenght and taste. I would consider it a winter light beer.

Dark brown with nice off-white head. Malty nose. Rich and malty, full bodied. Still surprised it’s only 4.5% given the fullness of this brew. On tap at Dive 96 in NYC

Bottle. Aroma of pepper and malty tones, earthiness, nuts, brown sugar. Flavor the same, never noteworthy in any area, nor in their combination. Medium bodied. Nothing exciting here.

Bottle. Pours a clear brown with a very small ring of tan head. Aroma of general spices (peppery?) and sweet malt. Flavor of an amber ale with spiced caramel malt. Definite spicy/peppery notes. Spicy burn in the finish. This is an ok beer, but nothing I would seek out again. More like a S/H/V than an amber ale. Decent.

[bottle - 12 oz] Amber color with a soapy tan head and decent lacing. Aroma is malty with some spices including gingerbread, cinnamon, and some brown sugar. Taste begins sweet with some sugar and dark malts but then goes to a slightly hoppy middle and a lightly spiced finish. Warms on the way down.
