Commercial Description:
Blue Point Brewing's Winter Ale is a hearty and robust amber ale. Brewed to chase away the chill of a cool winter night. Made with Pale, Vienna, crystal and chocolate malt. This uncommon amber is only brewed during the cold months of the year. Winter Ale is an extremely popular seasonal specialty. Enjoy the tasty balance of malt and hops. Remember this special ale leaves with Winter.

Poured a clear dark copper colorwith a small beige head. Sweet malty aroma with caramel and some paper notes. The beer has a malty flavor with mild acidity and then a dry lightly bittered finish. Actually at the end of a fairly long finish this gets very dry.

12oz thanks beastiefan2k - Aroma is toasted malts with a touch of hop spice. Pours transparent ruby red with a small head and good lacing. Flavor matches aroma. Palate is sticky. Not bad, but plain.

Deep amber color with thin white head. Aroma of roasted malts and caramel. Flavor was caramel malts, some toffee, and roasted grains. Sweet, but with a slightly dry finish. Not bad for an amber ale, but not quite a winter ale.

Pours copper-brown with a persistent off-white head. Lots of bubbles rising from the bottom of the glass. The aroma is vert faint, mostly grainy malt. The taste is lightly toasted malt with a nice balance of bitter hops. Mouthfeel is carbonated and drying. There’s a light lingering bitterness in the aftertaste. This is a quite decent amber amber, however there is neither a high enough (warming) ABV or winter-type spices to explain the "Winter" label.
