keepersj12 (480), Sicklerville, New Jersey, USA Oct 24, 2007 I really enjoyed this beer. A sweet malty flavor with a slightly bitter finish. Alcohol is present when it warms.
fredandboboflo (771), East Setauket, New York, USA Dec 27, 2008 Bottle. Aroma of pepper and malty tones, earthiness, nuts, brown sugar. Flavor the same, never noteworthy in any area, nor in their combination. Medium bodied. Nothing exciting here. LilBeerDoctor (797), East Setauket, New York, USA Dec 22, 2008 Bottle. Pours a clear brown with a very small ring of tan head. Aroma of general spices (peppery?) and sweet malt. Flavor of an amber ale with spiced caramel malt. Definite spicy/peppery notes. Spicy burn in the finish. This is an ok beer, but nothing I would seek out again. More like a S/H/V than an amber ale. Decent. zach8270 (1526), Henrietta, New York, USA Dec 14, 2008 [bottle - 12 oz] Amber color with a soapy tan head and decent lacing. Aroma is malty with some spices including gingerbread, cinnamon, and some brown sugar. Taste begins sweet with some sugar and dark malts but then goes to a slightly hoppy middle and a lightly spiced finish. Warms on the way down. malrubius (560), USA Dec 4, 2008 12 ounce bottle in pint glass. Dark amber brown with lasting ring and some lace. Spice and brown sugar aroma. Brown sugar, dark fruit, and spice with medium bitter lingering finish. Medium body, slight carbo bite. Typical for a nondescript Winter ale. rugbydude05 (201), Kew Gardens, New York, USA Nov 29, 2008 on tap at the brewery in patchogue. Pours a hazy dark brown color. Aroma was less prominent than I expected- some spices, some malt. Taste was kind of bitter but well balanced. Hihnts of doughyness toward the end of the drink. Palate was average. Not a bad option when its cold outside but there are much better winter ales available.
