hopscotch (5135), Vero Beach, Florida, USA Nov 9, 2005 Updated: Dec 8, 2005 Bottle... Clear, amber ale with a small, creamy, off-white head. Great retention. Soapy, yeasty nose. The flavor is lightly bitter. Medium-bodied and dry with moderate carbonation. Boring finish.
Cletus (4314), Connecticut, USA Mar 10, 2009 Bottle courtesy of j12601. Pours copper with a white head. Smells of caramel, earthy, fruity, yeasty. Tastes mildly bitter and sweet with some peppery splashes. There’s n underlying astringency to this that’s very off-putting. zapprentice (217), East Setauket, New York, USA Mar 3, 2009 Not impressed at all. Nothing to the flavor aroma. ehh. nice amber appearance though Rciesla (2800), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA Feb 20, 2009 Bottle. Pours a garnet body with a tan head. Sweet malty caramel body, a bit thin and watery at that. Some light hoppy spicy notes and earthy rye bitterness to finish. Pwn3d (877), Manhattan, New York, USA Feb 18, 2009 Had this on tap. Never a big fan of the style, but id say this is a slightly better than the majority. Caramel color, similar mouth with medium body. Would of liked to see something bigger here. jcwattsrugger (4908), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Feb 16, 2009 12oz bottle-pours a rich tan head that reduces to a ring and copper/red color. Aroma is mild medium malt-toffee. Later as it warms, some fruit too. Tast is medium malt-toffee, secondary earthy hops. Towards medium body. Thanks to Joe-jwc215 for picking this out. Sregnar35 (710), Rotterdam, New York, USA Feb 6, 2009 cask at Mahars. Pours dark brown with a small head. Flavor was watery even for a cask beer. Nothing good stands out here, just a below average session beer. arventresca (292), Greenville, North Carolina, USA Feb 3, 2009 Bottle. Dark brown with white head. Very similar to other winters I have had, though a little weaker in strenght and taste. I would consider it a winter light beer. BiddleBrau (271), Midland Park, New Jersey, USA Jan 25, 2009 Dark brown with nice off-white head. Malty nose. Rich and malty, full bodied. Still surprised it’s only 4.5% given the fullness of this brew. On tap at Dive 96 in NYC
