3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 VENOM (941) - USA - FEB 18, 2002
Clear copper with suspended flecks. Thin off white head. Very very light carbonation. Deep roasted caramel aroma, some grainy notes as well. Medium body, decent malt base with notes of sweet caramel, mild roastedness and some light chocolate. Thinnish body (for a winter brew) but it has a nice long malty (melted caramel nougat) finish and aftertaste. A healthy amber, but this is no Winter Warmer. They should call it an Annual Amber. A very good winter session brew.

Shared by turdfergson. Clean coppery pour with one finger of sandy tan head. Nose is malt forward, notes of toasted cereal grain and Vienna malt, caramel and diacetyl coming through. Herbal hop character. Pretty straight forward flavor, leafy and herbal bitterness. Caramel malts and a bready character. Medium body. Meh

Bottle from Sam’s. Cloudy amber with a thick yellow white head. Nose is cat piss, lemon, granny smith apples, mint, other herbs and spices, . Kinda creamy, mouthfeel, heavier than expected. Flavor is light banana, graham cracker, pineapple. Weird combination of flavors that’s a tad messy. KInd of a chalky, lightly bitter mouthfeel. Weird beer. Tastes kind of numb if that makes any sense.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 hivemind (426) - New York, New York, USA - MAR 2, 2012
Growler fill from 9th Ave Vintner. Pours into goblet a rusty red bordering on brown. Not a lot of head. Aroma is sugary maple syrup. Palate is noticeably sweet with decent carbonation in the mouthfeel. Earthy, spicy and vegetable notes and major malty notes. Grainy early on. Still a very light mouthfeel and very much winter. Decent.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Beerathon (78) - Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 1, 2012
Very solid amber ale offering from Blue Point. Definitely had a reddish brown hue and a nice off-white medium head. Hop notes were nice and balanced well with the maltiness of the beer.

A straight ahead amber on tap at MacGregors. There is really nothing I can say about this. It was amber. Palate has a bit of a cola flavor, boring but drinkable.
