2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 NachlamSie (2136) - USA - OCT 19, 2006
Draught. Pours copper with a small white head. There’s caramel with minimal woody hops in the nose. The flavor shows plenty of sweetness akin to southern sweet tea and pears and just an average level of hop presence which comes across like fruit stems. This is not sadly thin like some other APA’s, but this lacks any real definition or a backbone.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Drake (5231) - Charlottesville, Virginia, USA - FEB 26, 2012

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 anders37 (9908) - Malmö, SWEDEN - JUN 16, 2011

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 unclemike (1486) - Ft. Riley, Kansas, USA - MAY 22, 2011
Pours clear gold with a large sudsy head. Nice yeasty/citrus aroma. The flavor starts very non-dimemo and finishes with an unpleasant hop flavor that is piney to the point of a soapy flavor. The mouthfeel is thin with heavy carbonation. An unpleasantly off aftertaste follows. Even though I enjoy heavy hops, this beer needs more than just bitterness to be good
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 lithy (2995) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 1, 2010
Amber orange, off white beige cover. Mango hop aroma, citrusy grapefruit, some light caramel. Taste is slight slick caramel malt, fruity hops, citrus and tropical fruits, mango, pineapple.
3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 thagr81_us (171) - Gaffney, South Carolina, USA - MAY 20, 2010
Served from tap into a standard pint. Pours a nice amber color with a minimal white head. There was no apparent lacing. The aroma consisted only of malt. The flavor of this beer was not as good as I had expected as it only really consisted of a weak malt with a little bit of spiciness to it. It was light on the palate with low carbonation. Overall this one was kind of bland in flavor. It does make up for this in drinkability and is quite drinkable, just not enough for me to order another.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 wcampbell (721) - Clemson, South Carolina, USA - JAN 24, 2010
Not the typical APA. Roasty malts and earthy hops instead of the usual grapefruit hop taste. More like an ESB in this regard. Mildly bitter finish, but overall too watery. Light bodied.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 tronraner (2458) - Walland, Tennessee, USA - SEP 7, 2009

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 PorterPounder (4107) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - JUN 26, 2009
On tap at the brewpub in Greenville. Dark orange pour - initial rocky white head that dissipates after a while. Decent floral aroma with hints of mint. Flavor has a nice subtle underlying bitterness with just the right amount of citrus. First sip - I immiediately sadi to myself - SNPA clone. Thickish, clean mouthfeel. Not bad at all.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 CaptainCougar (6834) - Columbia, Maryland, USA - JUN 16, 2009
On tap at the brewpub 2/1/08: Pours a transparent dark bronze copper with a full-lacing froth of white head. Aroma of lightly sweet crystal malts and some mild orange hoppy presence. Starts with good fullness and sweet caramely malt with a light grapefruity hoppy balance finishing crisp and bittersweet. A pretty good APA.

The employee favorite! One of my favorites there as well. Copper color, crisp and easy drinking with a very nice malt/hop balance but this is pretty well hopped for a Pale Ale, grapefruit and floral notes come to mind. Good beer and light enough to be a strong session choice.
