wingman333 (160), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Jul 6, 2007 Draft at Blue Smoke in NY; it is my understanding it is only available there. It tastes much like an Oktoberfest variety, malty, red, with ample foamy head. There was not as much bitterness as I usually enjoy but a little smoky flavor, which went well with all the food we ate while there. Good beer, great place! jefcon (821), Arlington, Virginia, USA Oct 31, 2005 Draft at Blue Smoke. Good ESB coloration and good head on a 20 oz. pint. Both spicy and floral hops on the nose, with a deep malt background. The beer has more depth than its color suggests, with a resinous middle palate and a crisp finish. Dickinsonbeer (2480), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA Mar 12, 2005 On Tap at the Blue smoke. Good looking light amber with nice lasting head. Aroma was fruity and flowery with some herbal and earthy hints. Some caramel malts as well. Flavor is balanced. Sweet crystal malts and light fruity hops blend very well. Nice smooth slightly crisp finish. Goes well with all their great BBQ food. A recomended beer and a recomended restaurant. blatantdream (78), New York, New York, USA Feb 2, 2005 Updated: Feb 4, 2005This beer is only available on tap at Blue Smoke, a barbecue restaurant. Clear amber brown color with a nice lacing on top. Toasted malty caramel sweet taste with a nice bitter hops, slightly dry finish in the back of the mouth but ends with a nice floral high note coming from the hops. Complex flavors that went quite well with the meat and their sweet and spicy bbq sauce. I would recommend to have it with the ribs. WISEGUY572 (1083), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA May 9, 2003 Great looking brown ale. Medium body, sour, floral taste, good bitter finish. Signature beer of Blue Smoke, a barbecue restaurant on 27th Street in New York. Went nicely with the smokey tender meat.
