2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 tgncc (1913) - Bellmore, New York, USA - AUG 18, 2009
The aroma was malty, biscuity, grassy. The appearance was orange, white head. The flavor was malty, slight notes of grass, bread. The finish was a bittering from noble type hops. Fairly light bodied. It certainly has some characteristics of a pale lager, although they claim it’s 2 ales mixed together. I can’t guess which 2 les they are talking about. Not bad, not great.

On tap at blue smoke with Feng and Brendan. Bitter, biscuit, and light fruits.

Tap at Citi Field. Had no idea what sort of beer this was going in and my best guess at the time was pale lager. That pretty much sums up my thoughts. Maybe somebody hooked up the kegs wrong.

Great looking brown ale. Medium body, sour, floral taste, good bitter finish. Signature beer of Blue Smoke, a barbecue restaurant on 27th Street in New York. Went nicely with the smokey tender meat.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 IMtheOptimator (1161) - Bethel, Connecticut, USA - AUG 15, 2009
On tap at Citi Field. Poured dark amber with a fizzy white head. Aroma of slightly sweet biscuity malt with a slight touch of piney grassy hops. Flavor is lightly sweet with a nutty toffee character and a clean slightly hoppy finish. Not bursting with complexity but refreshing and drinkable.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 jefcon (1124) - Arlington, Virginia, USA - OCT 31, 2005
Draft at Blue Smoke. Good ESB coloration and good head on a 20 oz. pint. Both spicy and floral hops on the nose, with a deep malt background. The beer has more depth than its color suggests, with a resinous middle palate and a crisp finish.
3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 CUJO (383) - Brooklyn, New York, USA - SEP 10, 2009
tap @ Citi: ... and then from left field comes... a reason for me to continue being a Mets fan! Contrary to other ratings, I believe this is the better of the 2 ales offered at the stadium. A more complex tasting beer, I get a full balance of hops, malts, biscuit, and dark sugars.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 wingman333 (333) - San Antonio, Texas, USA - JUL 6, 2007
Draft at Blue Smoke in NY; it is my understanding it is only available there. It tastes much like an Oktoberfest variety, malty, red, with ample foamy head. There was not as much bitterness as I usually enjoy but a little smoky flavor, which went well with all the food we ate while there. Good beer, great place!

Tap at Citi. Aroma is of sugar. Flavor is watery and nothing to it. Worst of one available at Citi.
3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 blatantdream (78) - New York, New York, USA - FEB 2, 2005
UPDATED: FEB 4, 2005 This beer is only available on tap at Blue Smoke, a barbecue restaurant. Clear amber brown color with a nice lacing on top. Toasted malty caramel sweet taste with a nice bitter hops, slightly dry finish in the back of the mouth but ends with a nice floral high note coming from the hops. Complex flavors that went quite well with the meat and their sweet and spicy bbq sauce. I would recommend to have it with the ribs.
