Draft at the source. Cloudy reddish golden amber color, off pink head. Beautiful aroma of sour berries, freshly picked. Taste is softly sour raspberry, cherry on a tart lemon background. Delicious, complex, and highly drinkable.

On tap at the brewpub in San Antonio. Appearance: Pours red-amber with excellent clarity. The very durable head leaves the glass completely coating with lacing even many many minutes past the pour. Feel: Medium body and medium carbonation. Flavor: Excellent tart/sweet balance clerly favors the tart side. Plenty of natural raspberry flavor. Superb. O: excellent and highly recommended. The best of 10 beers I’ve had from this brewery, and the best raspberry beer I’ve had excepting, I think, New Glarus Serendipity.

Location: Draft at the Brewpub, 1/23/14

Aroma: The aroma is big on raspberry and sugary malts with some tart notes
Appearance: The pour is reddish-pink in color with a small beige head
Flavor: The flavor starts off very sweet, but there’s some late tartness that balance it
Palate: The body is on the lighter side, leaning medium, with an average-plus carbonation
Overall Impression: I thought this was a pretty tasty one. It was very sweet up-front. It falls somewhere between a fruit beer and a sour. Bonus for being quite unique.

Reddish pour with a pinkish-white head. The aroma is heavy with some sugary raspberry notes and a light bit of tartness. The flavor is similar. What comes through first is the sweet, sugary raspberry but there is also a bit of tart raspberry and a hint of underlying funk. Thin mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Tap at the brewery. Pours clear ruby with a medium, frothy pink head, long retention with good lacing. Aroma is lactic, raspberry, and spicy wheat malt. Flavor is raspberry, lactic, wheat malt, light hops and bitterness, sour and tart with a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.
