COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Creamy, robust, Irish style dry stout, full of flavors from deep-roasted barley malts. The slight hint of chocolate is born of the meticulous marriage of malts and hops. Originating in Ireland, and now brewed here in Texas, this is a beer for those who desire a big taste.

On tap at the brewpub in San Antonio where it was presented as an Irish stout and called "Spire Stout" with an ABV = 5.35. Appearance: Pours clear but nearly opaque and black in the wine glass. The semi-durable head leaves little lacing. Feel: Near medium body and light carbonation. Flavor: Rather hoppy for a stout, so American Stout?. Plenty of dark malt flavor with a bit of hops. Medium bold for style. . O: very good.

This stout pours dark brown but not black with a creamy head that retains well. The aroma is rich and displays a distinctive dark chocolate character. The beer is medium bodied and smooth. A solid, if light, stout.

Location: Draft at the Brewpub, 1/23/14

Aroma: The nose is roasty and nutty, with some lactose and coffee as well
Appearance: It pours a dark brown color with a creamy tan colored head
Flavor: The flavor is much like the nose, quite roasty and nutty, lots of malty flavors
Palate: The body is medium, fairly creamy on the mouth, with a dry, roasty finish
Overall Impression: I thought this was a fairly solid stout. In the style, I found it one of the better offerings at Blue Star. Not too shabby...

Tap at brewery. Dark dark brown with a silky light khaki head. Creamy nutty roasty chocolate aroma, with a little black malt bitterness. Flavor starts pretty milky sweet with dark malts and cocoa, but quickly turns to a medium creaminess through to the finish, with a little aftertaste of dark roast malts.
