2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 JoeMcPhee (6964) - Toronto, ON, - AUG 3, 2005
330 ml bottle. Cloudy pale golden beer. Gingery aroma (duh), a touch of spice as well, but doesn’t have a lot of complexity. Flavour is sweet and gingery, no heat and no accenting spices either. Fairly sweet and a little candyish. Not bad, but a far cry from other ginger beers I’ve had.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 Thylacine (517) - Tasmania, AUSTRALIA - NOV 14, 2009
Clear gold with pure white head. Sweet, with slightly frothy mouth feel. Seems a bit watery and week favoured but not bad. Leaves a slightly bitter after-taste.

330ml bottle. Not a big fan of ginger beer and this did nothing to chnage my mind. Clear honey colour with a medium white head and strong ginger flavour and a sweet ginger taste that leaves a strong aftertaste. Might be refreshing on a hot summers ady.

...bottle. Much better than I expected. Went down well with nice ginger flavor. Fresh and cleansing, great for a hot day in hell.

A very refreshing beer. Light, well balanced with just the right amount of ginger; with a slightly bitter finish. Easy drinking, solid white head with a pleasing straw colour. Definitely one for those hot Aussie summer days

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Pyobon (567) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - OCT 11, 2007
UPDATED: JAN 17, 2009 This is a rather light tasting beer - both the basic beer and the ginger. It’s very easy to drink and refreshing. It’s very well balanced. I have been drinking this for several years and I think the ginger has been toned down a little over that time. I get hints of ginseng too. [11/10/07]
[17/01/09 - tried it on tap in the Hunter - palate and aroma impressed me more than the bottled version - have left original score.]

Nice and refreshing when cold - could maybe do with a little more length in the taste but compensated by teh sweetness of the ginger, but quite enjoyable on a hot day
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 kitschy (326) - Nebraska, USA - NOV 25, 2006
on tap at blue tongue. Who knew ginger beer could be so good? refreshing and light, with a nice puffy head. there’s enough malt here to hold up the ginger, and the hops are apparently balanced, as they add a floral back-up to the ginger without covering it up.

On tap in the brewery garden. Pours a light iridescent light yellow. A daisy color in fact. Slightly cloudy with a bright white head. Good lacing. Sweet ginger taste. Smoother than expected. Has a mild ginger aroma. Floral ginger nose. Waves of ginger wash over your tongue with a certain hop bitterness at the end. There seems to be a lot of ginger beers in Oz. This one’s as good as any.
