Indulgence (61), Ajo, Arizona, USA Jul 28, 2008 Tasted during outage: I’m not a pilsener fan by no means, but this was a nice beer to try once. I give it high marks since it was the best pilsener that I have had in a while. I got some banana bread, citrus and herbs, very clean flavor along with some hops bittering. I think it was nicely balanced, very drinkable. Muggus69 (203), Sydney, Australia Jun 21, 2008 330ml bottle, served chilled. Light aroma, some floral and citrusy hops honeyish grainy malt with a touch of skunky yeast. Pours a clean pale gold body, moderate white head leaving sparcial lace. Smooth texture, reasonably dry body, relatively high carbonation. Quite a well balanced body of flavour, grainy malt with a touch of lemon and spice from the hops. Finish is moderately bitter, has a chalky dryness and skunky yeast character that lingers and unfortunately spoils the beers overall appeal. Highly drinkable, decent flavour, nothing overly offensive, i’d have to say this is the best offering from Blue Tongue at this point in time. MBison (356), Southern Highlands, Australia Jun 15, 2008 Bottle (330ml). Poured golden with a fluffy, rocky, white head which was average lasting. Aroma was of sweet grainy malts with sweet corn, honey, lemon and a hint of grassy hops. Flavor was light, with a crisp bitterness (also light), grainy malts, lemon and a hint of grassy hops. Light bodied with lively carbonation, dry/watery mouthfeel and a short finish. Not as bad as I had expected. Bockyhorsey (1951), Mesa, Arizona, USA Apr 13, 2008 12oz bottle. Cleaning out the fridge found this one. Skunky aroma along with some grain. Golden body color with good white fizzy head and spotty lacing. Had that bitter pils flavor at first but mellowed out and fruity flavor appeared near the finish. That fruit left an apple aftertaste on the palate that was alot better than bitter toasted grain. Odd brew. Bragesnak (1134), Aarhus, Denmark Mar 29, 2008 Melbourne, Australia
Bottled
Has the hop and colour for the style but lacks a clear malty profile
Seems like the southern sun has turned away from Czech solidness
