A far better option than their Lager. Cirus mouthful with a good salty finish. A pleasant surprise for me.

As soon as I opened the bottle I could smell the horrible stench of what would be a most un-pleasurable bitterness to soon be downed by me. I dare say it’s possibly the worst beer I’ve ever had... so far...

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 hawthorne00 (1435) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - MAR 30, 2011
Bottle. Gold with a loosish inch of white head. Fine bead. Aroma is a little sharp with citrus and grass, some spice. Taste has a very little sweet grainy malt, a touch of cardboard and the rather harsh bitterness that seems a bit artificial. Slightly slick mouthfeel, but didn’t pick up anything in the taste or aroma. Crisp I guess but not very inviting - pretty much nothing to it until the bitterness at the end. Unbalanced but at least it’s not bland.
1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 davidm (1361) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - SEP 17, 2010
Tap. More like a boring pale lager to me. Aromas of straw, citrus, and band-aid. Taste is sweet, with light bitterness. Palate is oily, but the body is thin. Yellow, with a persistent head.
2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 ndon (857) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUN 20, 2010
UPDATED: SEP 1, 2010 quite bland and boring, as with the rest of blue tongue’s beers. although it does have a tad more flavour than the lager
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 bluebetty (880) - AUSTRALIA - NOV 7, 2009
Bottle. Tasted as part od a beer & food matching lunch. Poured nice golden colour with minial head. Flavour shows a little malt and some hp aromas. Very retsrained though. Flavours arent great with a little malt and some hops. Very retrained though. Not bad but certainly had better pilsners.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 GG (1980) - NorCal, California, USA - MAY 31, 2009
Probably one of the better Aussie beers I’ve had, but that would just a guess. The beer pours out an orange-golden color, clear with minimal carbonation present. A small 1" thick white head melted away pretty quickly, and although a few swirls brought it back, it went away just as quick. Aroma was apple juice, honey and some light grassy notes. Flavor was suprisingly sweet, like apple juice but it went nicely with the malt bill. No noticeable flaws, just a clean, easy to enjoy pils.

Sampled on 4/21/2009. This pilsner pours a orange gold color from a 12oz bottle. Small sized white foamy head. The aroma is cereal and grain with a touch of spice. A medium to light bodied pilsner. The malts are grainy and grassy. The hops are spicy. Crisp and clean, with decent carbonation. It does start to pick up an apple juice sort of flavor as it warms. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is crisp and clean. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.
3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 nearbeer (2654) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - FEB 26, 2009
330 ml. Clear orange-gold with an inch of lasting, creamy foam. Aroma is iron with a bit of sweet dry grass. Mild flavor has some husky grain, light citrus, caramel apple, berry and dry grass. Finish is woody and slightly peppery. Medium body is smoothly carbonated, lightly tingly, and crisp on the finish. Nice frosty lacing left behind. Excepting the metallic aroma, this one was quite a pleasant surprise.
2.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 mkel07 (1806) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - JAN 27, 2009
Bottle. Poured with a small white head that quickly disappeared to nothing. Golden amber in colour with lively carbonation. The label says a fruity hop aroma but I could not detect this. Clean crisp flavour.
