A higher octane American-style IPA, brewed with a truckload of fresh hops for flavor and bite.

UPDATED: AUG 25, 2014 Cask (Dry-Hopped with Nelson): A sub-8% IPA... dry hopped with Nelson.... on CASK.... Couldn’t get this into my face fast enough. Opaque, dense sunburst color with a small, ecru film on top that dissipates quickly. Aroma is beautiful; juicy, wet, pungent citrus with sticky dank hops crowding all around. Grapefruit, honeydew, white grape, & tangerine, all supported by a blanket of moderately floral hops, wet weeds, moderate dankness, & a juicy, hemp laden finish. Dem lupulin oils. Tons of citrus peel on the palate; some bitter, a touch of sweetness. Melon, resinous hop oil, orange flesh & zest, a hint of white pepper, mild perfume, grapefruit, wet grass... Goddamn, this is delicious. Very nice temperature & silky mouth feel from the cask conditioning. This is my jam.

Had a taste on tap at Blue Tractor in Ann Arbor. Solid, but oddly flavored. Kinda corny?

Focuses on the bitter without much complexity. Decent beer but somewhat run of the mill ipa. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a cloudy dark orange with a thick white head. Aroma of light fruits, floral hops, caramel malt. Flavor of citrus, light hop oils, light fruits, with a spicy bitter finish. Excellent ipa. 7/4/8/4/15 (3.8/5)

Tap @ Blue Tractor. Hazy, orangish appearance with an off white head. Mild, earthy, orange citrusy aroma. Fairly bitter, earthy, orange, grapefruit citrusy hoppy flavor. Not bad.

On tap at the brewery as part of a six-beer sampler. This pours a clear gold amber with a white head. Aroma is quite nice with lots of citrus. Flavor is less bold, with citrus, pine, grassy hops, biscuit, and a moderate bitterness. A little bit of a disappointment.

Sample at brewpub
Saving the two IPAs for last I found myself greeted by acceptable releases that were not remarkable or particularly memorable. On one hand there weren’t any glaring flaws. On the other it just sort of was. This beer had little presence.

Aroma / Appearance - Trace carbonation sparkled in the bottom as the orange semi-opaque body sat idly. Lemon pledge freshly sprayed onto a cleaning rag melded with crisp hops which were smooth but not powerful.

Flavor / Palate - The taste of bittersweet waxed tile washed across the tongue. It had some character and depth but ultimately was just what you would expect from a brewpub IPA. In fact I wound up only drinking about half before moving on to the final sample hoping it was an improvement.
