3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Silphium (2718) - East Lansing, USA - MAY 11, 2010
On tap at Blue Tractor. Fiery orange body, medium creamy buff head. Sweet and bitter nose with potent citrus rind. Slick, oily body, resinous, with bitter rindy citrus, orange peel, and pine. Bitter, slippery finish. Pretty good, but the mouthfeel was a bit too greasy.

Tap @ Blue Tractor. Hazy, orangish appearance with an off white head. Mild, earthy, orange citrusy aroma. Fairly bitter, earthy, orange, grapefruit citrusy hoppy flavor. Not bad.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 flatmatt (774) - Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA - OCT 17, 2011
On tap at the brewery as part of a six-beer sampler. This pours a clear gold amber with a white head. Aroma is quite nice with lots of citrus. Flavor is less bold, with citrus, pine, grassy hops, biscuit, and a moderate bitterness. A little bit of a disappointment.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Brigadier (1938) - Bloomington, Indiana, USA - SEP 23, 2011
Sample at brewpub
Saving the two IPAs for last I found myself greeted by acceptable releases that were not remarkable or particularly memorable. On one hand there weren’t any glaring flaws. On the other it just sort of was. This beer had little presence.
Aroma / Appearance - Trace carbonation sparkled in the bottom as the orange semi-opaque body sat idly. Lemon pledge freshly sprayed onto a cleaning rag melded with crisp hops which were smooth but not powerful.
Flavor / Palate - The taste of bittersweet waxed tile washed across the tongue. It had some character and depth but ultimately was just what you would expect from a brewpub IPA. In fact I wound up only drinking about half before moving on to the final sample hoping it was an improvement.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 aracauna (2691) - Georgia, USA - JUN 15, 2011
Not as interesting as the Punky’s Monkey, but very malts for the style. Less hoppy than expected. Very drinkable.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 jrallen34 (3445) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAR 28, 2011
Drank as part of a sampler...This pours a copper color, with a light tan head. The aroma and taste are ok, light malt, just light in general. There is almost a total lack of hops, this is not an ipa or a pale but a decently drinkable beer.
I’d try this just for the heck of it, but nothing special.

On tap at the Blue Tractor Brew Pub. Poured a medium orange color with a small sized off white. Aromas of citrus and some pine. Oranges. Tastes of citrus, pine and some caramel. Grapefruit.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 hopscotch (7526) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - JUL 30, 2010
Draft… RBSG 2010… Clear orange ale with a small, creamy, white head. Good retention. The bouquet presents lots of toffee and moderate chocolate flanked by restrained grapefruit. Full-bodied and oily with tingly carbonation. Heaps of citric bitterness are layered upon a sturdy malt base. Finishes crisp and heavily bitter.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Bullit (3284) - Burgos, SPAIN - JUN 19, 2010
Draft @ Blue Tractor brewpub. Slightly hazy orange colour, off-white head. Aroma is hoppy, pine, malty. Flavour is bitter pine hops, a bit harsh. Bitter and dry finish.
