This altbier pours a medium copper color from a 12 oz bottle. Medium sized white foamy head. Aroma is caramel malt, slightly nutty and slightly sweet. A medium to light bodied alt. Malts are caramel, toffee and semi sweet. Hops are herbal and floral. Nice balance. Good carbonation. Malty and semi-sweet. It is a touch thin and watery, but tolerable. Very easy drinker, would make a good session ale. Mouthfeel is a touch thin. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

Clear-ish pale brown ale(?). Odd malt nose. Off beat, yet, complex taste of sour malt(?) or rye. Its interesting, just not enough to come back too. beer club bottle

My first altbier! Copper pour with a lasting, frothy white head. Nice nutty, malty aroma. More nuttiness in the taste with some nice bread, malt and wood. Nice carbonation. Bitter finish. I liked this one. Could have used a bit more body, but it’s still pretty good for an amber.

Rated 1/24/06: Solid amber ale brewed in the old style. Pours a good looking light amber with ample head. Decent aroma of sweet malts countered by a bit or rye. Smooth and easy, very drinkable. Good flavor, a nice ale that could get you through the night.

Poured a clear copper color. Large creamy head...Smelled like caramel. Taste was a bit spicy up front...Followed by caramel or toffe. With a nice mild hop finish. It took a couple sips for me to like it, but it was pretty decent and drinkable.

On draft at the BBC brewpub in Louisville. Poured a nice light copper color with a below average head and lacing for the style (since it is labelled alt, I’m rating it as such, and alts must looked much prettier than this!). The aroma and flavor were nutty, caramel. The flavor had a nice bittering hop finish. Overall, however, I wanted more depth of both hops and malt, despite the nice balance and decent flavors going on with this. Mouthfeel was clean, light, fairly crisp (did they lager this?). A nice "light" stateside altbier in my book, far better than the average amber ale out there.

I dont’ understand this low rating. This is a well made amber crafted in the old style with a round smooth taste

12oz bottle. Sweet caramel malt aroma. Slight grass and honey. Totally bready. Medium bodied with a nice mild malt flavor. Crisp bready grains. Off-dry finish. Easy. Good everday brew. Good amber, but a touch light.
