Caramel and toffee certainly predominate both the nose and flavor of this brew...but there is a fairly interesting (though restrained) hop bite in the finish as well. The mouthfeel is lively with a signifigantly spritzy carbonation that refreshes admirably. I like this one a lot as a no-brainer session-type beer.

Pours a light-hazed, golden-based-copper under a yellowhite head. In the aroma, chewy Tootsie Rolls dominate over unimpressive hops. Alcohol feels heavy late. Malty flavor with a dry, bitter finish.... you know, I’ll just let the slightly-better-than-average numbers speak for themselves.

12 oz bottle. Pours deep hazy amber. Lightly metallic aroma with malt and minerals. The flavor is simple with light malt, hints of caramel, and minerals/metal. I don’t bring up the minerals and metal as a bad thing, it’s just the flavor. It’s not particularly “off”. The body is medium and has a clean mouth feel for the most part. Pretty easy drinking really.

Anyone know why BBC calls this an Altbier? It’s a drinkable enough Amber Ale. Bright amber body that starts with a decent fizzy head - - soon gone. The nose is caramel with some toffee and fresh apples. It tastes like it smells. Okay enough, but RB correctly labelled this for what it is.

The one thing this beer says is "balance." Not too bitter, not too malty. Very bold, moderately heavy. It reminds me a lot of a good porter.

Meh. Pours an amber color with a thin white head. Aroma and flavor of grainy malt with a light sour note and some smokey characteristics. Decent, but nothing special.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Rynoplasty (700) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - DEC 15, 2006
Pours a deep amber with a one finger head from a 12 oz. bottle. Aroma is malty and grainy. Taste grainy and roasted as well. Worth trying but not the best from BBC.

On tap in Louisville airport. Aroma was pretty weak. Some malt and hints of hops. Flavor had something I couldn’t put my finger on, but it was not good. Not a fan of this. Amber pour, not much head.
