3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 Rustyham (1303) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - JUN 1, 2010
clear amber/pinkish color with no head, aroma is a sweet, fluffy cotton-candy like malt with a hint of caramel. Taste is light, crisp malt with a little hop sharpness. This a good standard, malty flavor and hop sting, but body leaves a little to be desired. bottle from J Barleycorn’s, Nashville.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Shrews629 (193) - Kentucky, USA - MAY 5, 2010
Very clear, amber color with orange highlights. Very small, one finger head even with an aggressive pour that left minimal lacing. Sweet smelling caramel with a hint of nuttiness along with medium floral hops in the nose. The taste was slightly nutty with a nice, bitter aftertaste that I liked quite well. The mouthfeel was thin and smooth and also a bit watery with a small amount of carbonation. I could drink a few of these in one setting. Not bad at all really. Not too filling. Probably my favorite of the Bluegrass Brewing Co. brews.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 phaleslu (3182) - Saint Louis, Missouri, USA - APR 12, 2010
Draft sample at the St. Matthews brewery. Pours a clear amber color with a small white head that dissipates quickly. Aroma of caramel malts, yeast, spices, graham cracker, and floral notes. Flavor is also malty, with caramel, pale, and chocolate malt notes, along with sourdough bread, cardboard, and grass. Light-medium bodied with below average carbonation and a malty mouthfeel. Finishes with a bit of spice to complement the malts. Not my favorite style, and not really exciting.

Overall, a nice beer. Malty nose, nice malt and yeast on the palate. Classic to the style. I’m drinking the bottle labeled "amber" but I prefer the "altbeir" at the pub on Shelbyville Road.

It’s much better on tap at the brewery but still a great beer! BBC’s line up is nothing to ignore.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a clear amber color with a medium off white head that collapsed quickly. The aroma was sweet malty, caramel, toasted, with hints of fruit. The flavor is again malty with mild sweetness, toasted, and slightly hoppy. Medium bodied, not too bad.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 BeerHawk (1590) - Huntsville, Alabama, USA - SEP 26, 2009
Bottle -Bottled date Sep 08 (BBC Amber Ale). Poured copper with a fizzy off-white head that settles quickly. Aromas of toasted malts and hints of citrus. The flavor has some grain/grass and toasted malts. Light to medium body and a light grain aftertaste.
2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 MmmcKay (841) - Brentwood, Tennessee, USA - AUG 14, 2009
Sampled at the 8th Annual Music City Brewer’s Festival. Refreshing at first but quickly loses its luster. Light body. Dry and slightly malty. A beer that might appeal to a novice beer drinker. Not my favorite.
