2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 FROTHINGSLOSH (3205) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 6, 2008
This beer came in my beer club. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark orange-amber color with a large orange-white head. The aroma was sour, tangy and vegetal. The flavor was sour, tangy, malty and lightly vegetal with a touch of a fruity undertone. The finish was long and sour. Eh.

bottle was amber, nutty malt aroma maybe something else, too simple, but crisp and decent
2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 BeerBelcher (972) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - SEP 6, 2008
I choose to interpret this beer’s award of a medal at the 1996 GABF as a sign of the improving quality of American brewing, and not as a sign of meaninglessness for these awards. In short, I didn’t find this beer to be all that commendable.
Aroma was a sort of brass colored tan with minimal head. Aroma was virtually non-existent. Flavor was thin, and the predominant characteristic was an ash-tray like flavor. Mouthfeel was thin.
I wouldn’t recommend this, and in fact I resent the Microbrew of the Month people a bit for sending it to me.

The aroma is OK. Bread, yeast. Flavor is malty and watery. Very thin feel. Bad after taste. Not too good.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 ansermadide (850) - Kyle, Texas, USA - SEP 4, 2008
(12 bottle from Beer of the Month Club on September 4, 2008) Sitting in my pint glass, its steady carbonation has failed to maintain any bit of its quickly-diminished head. Its lacing is frothy, heavy, slides down the glass to the clear orange-amber altbier. It has an aroma of a macro brew - industrial, can’t make out any particular aromas. Its flavor is very tinny... almost rusty. Barely noticeable hops. Just tastes dirty. Thin, light malt.

poured a medium amber hue with a thin white head that had no retention. Aroma had a heavy malt note mostly caramel notes.
flavor was mildly sweet with a light hop back drop. Finish was smooth.

Just not crazy about alts. Flavor is too mellow for my tastes and after a slight hop finish it gets stale.

Receive as a BOTMC selection for August 2008: Labled as BBC Amber Ale. Poured from the bottle into a pint glass. Pour produced a clear amber body topped by a medium ecru head of foam. Aroma was of hay and malt. Medium bodied and bitter, this ale has a dry aftertaste at the end of the flavor profile. Initialy, this ale doesn’t have much of a palate and it’s overall taste is dominated by the dry, bitter finish.
